Why won’t he be able to have a career in the Marines? He was found innocent.

MURTHA, APOLOGIZE NOW!!!!!!!!!!! FOR YOUR TRAITOROUS AND DISPICABLE ASSERTIONS OF GUILTY TO OUR GREAT MARINES BEFORE ANY TRIAL OR FACT FINDING!!! MURTHA IS DISGUSTING.
To: newzjunkey
Excellent question, junkey. A cavalcade of apologies should start with Time magazine, Chris Matthews, and all of CNN. As far as I know, the ONLY media person who ever apologized for a felicitous statenment about Haditha was Alan Colmes at Fox.

I think that Lt Grayson has telegraphed his desire regarding the Marine Corps....he wants out.
It makes the most sense, too. There are systemites even in the Marines who will use this to hold him back at some step along the way.
I’d advise him to follow through with getting out of military service.
The irony of this will be if they allow him to immediately get discharged.....given the fake discharge accusation.

Where’s Murtha’s apology to all falsely accused?
Taqlk about a rush to judgement.

Prosecutors are supposed to be “free of passion and prejudice”. I’d say Atterbury and his colleagues have crossed the line.

A little more info from North County Times,
MILITARY: Haditha Marine acquitted
"It took a military jury six hours Wednesday to clear ---- on all charges ---- the first Marine tied to the killings of 24 Iraqi civilians to see his case head to trial.
The family of 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson cheered in the Camp Pendleton courtroom as the jury announced it found Grayson not guilty on all counts related to the aftermath of the Haditha killings. A flash of relief crossed Grayson's face.
His supporters cried and his mother mouthed "thank you" to the seven-member jury.
Grayson's wife, Susan, collapsed into her sister's arms and sobbed. After the hearing ended, Grayson's cheeks were wet with tears when he turned around and hugged her.
"Thank God," Grayson said were his first thoughts on hearing that his 16-month legal battle was over.
Asked what comes next, the officer said, "It's time for me to be with my family."
"I think this has made me a stronger person overall," Grayson said as his family embraced each other.
As he walked out of the room, Grayson grabbed his wife's hand and said, "Let's go home."".....

Thanks for reminder about Evan Vela. He’s never far from our thoughts.
And keep an eye out for the July issue of Esquire. Rumor has it that a big story is coming.

Grayson's life was thrown into turmoil. He was barred from leaving the Marine Corps until the case was adjudicated. He had been scheduled to get out in June 2007.
Now I remember why they sent him discharge papers. They were SUPPOSED to send him discharge papers. His time was up.
This shows what a real rat-face the prosecutor was. Grayson didn't accidentally get discharge papers. It also makes me really question Mattis' and Helland's judgement.
Talk about tormenting a guy. This is what we can say about Grayson:
1. He followed Marine Corps policy by deleting photos of dead bodies.
2. He answered truthfully that he'd deleted photos.
3. He followed Marine Corps policy when he got discharge papers AT THE TIME HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DISCHARGED, and he went the extra mile to get legal counsel from the Marine Corps about that discharge.
For the above, the prosecutors and the accusing general and the convening general decided this man should go on trial and to jail for upwards of 25 years.
Now that it's clear what the tormentors had to go on, it is also clear that this had to be a vendetta. There is absolutely NO REASON in the above to charge this Marine with anything.
Can you imagine, even for a moment, sending the above man to prison for 25 years???!!!
