Well, today is supposed to be the day the big, huge, bad, devastating, apocalyptic, {insert-dire-adjective-here} political "bombshell" is supposed to drop on Senator The Obama's head.

Which... um... (looking around)...so far, no "boom."

So I am proposing we mount a "Bombshell Watch."

And thus, I make the first log entry:

6:13am PT — so far, no "boom"

Well, today is supposed to be the day the big, huge, bad, devastating, apocalyptic....

The reason they said it would be out today is either:

1. To try to dispel the existence of the tape by putting out a phony deadline.

2. To try to pressure an earlier release, so it will minimize it's effect on the general election.

I really don't expect it to be released today. There is no way it will be released prior to Clinton conceding.

Isn’t it interesting that the democrat party has finally schismed into a core of activists who really DO hate America, and the moderates who are rejecting that creed? If McCain plays his cards right, he can suck up those democrat voters who think America really must be strong to defend herself. And isn’t it crazy that Hillary is the moderate in that race? That’s how scary Barack Obama is.

Truly an astonishing election cycle.

The DBM don’t even get that Obama looked UPSET at his victory speech. He LOOKED like someone who was dealing with bad news in face of a happy event.

The tape exists, Hillary has it and uses it. The tape destroys Obama and Hill takes over the dem nomination.

John McCain feels sooooo bad he announces that Obama will be his veep! And face it, McCain needs someone that can rev up a crowd with a teleprompter!

Yeah.. anyone who tries to convince me that “What’s up with Why’d He?” makes sense is not someone I’m going to take seriously. First, the attempt to insult my intelligence won’t play well. Second, it hurts my brain to try to puzzle out how anyone could possibly buy that explanation.

Remember when all the Lefties on the net were sure that Karl Rove was about to be indicted? Then we all laughed at them when thier “Fitzmas” was runined? I hope this isn’t like that.

If it does exist, I don't even want it released now. There is no reason to let this out of the bag until after the Democrats have finished their convention.

UPDATED: It seems really easy for Chicago local media, especially, to determine whether or not this is the right tape of Michelle Obama. All they need to do is pull the tape from this 2004 Conference (particularly the panel Michelle was on), which should be readily available (since this was a very large multi-day event). All a journalist needs to do is watch this tape: if this is not the right one, they'd know immediately and this issue would be debunked. But, logically, this seems to be the most likely source of the tape people have been talking about at NoQuarterUSA.net

Now the Hillaryites are telling the media how to find the tape. How funny...

I think a healthy skepticism is still in order, given the general breathlessness of the rumor-mongers and the utter lack (to this point) of anything resembling evidence. Common sense and experience would both tend to suggest that anything purported to be as explosive as the alleged Michelle Obama tape could not be kept under wraps for long, without having been leaked in some form.

That makes me doubt there's as quite as much to the story as is being conflated in the blogosphere. On the other hand, there are many specific kinds of details floating about (a time, a place, participants, repeated quotations), which make this story unlikely to be pure fiction - although it still might be. Stranger things have happened.

Adding “-ical” or “-ic” to make a noun into an adjective is perfectly acceptable. Kind’a like “gerund-ing”..........

I agree with that, and I hope they hold it. However..

Yep. The timing now makes no sense. If Hillary had conceded the nomination, it might have made a little sense, very little. But since the nomination process is not officially over, it would be counter-productive to release the tape now. It could re-open the door for Hillary.

Exactly. The tape will not matter a whit to a majority of Obama supporters. However, many folks, Independents and Democrats in that mushy middle who were originally going to vote for Obama may quietly slip out of the Obama camp.
