Bill Clinton Fights Back Against Brutal Vanity Fair Article
Fox News ^ | June 1, 2008 | Fox News

The Office of President Bill Clinton responded with fury Sunday to a Vanity Fair article that attacks the former president and suggests he is out of control personally and consumed by “cavernous narcissism.”

The article, which hits newsstands next week, was distributed to the media and online in advance of its publication. The author, Todd Purdum, has covered Clinton for 16 years. He is married to former Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers. “A tawdry, anonymous quote-filled attack piece, published in this month’s Vanity Fair magazine regarding former President Bill Clinton repeats many past attacks on him, ignores much prior positive coverage, includes numerous errors, and ultimately breaks no new ground. It is, in short, journalism of personal destruction at its worst,” reads a statement from the office of the president.

“Though (Purdum) researched the piece for several months, his first contact with President Clinton’s office was several weeks before he closed the story. Most revealing is one simple fact: President Clinton has helped save the lives of 1,300,000 people in his post-presidency, and Vanity Fair couldn’t find time to talk to even one of them for comment,” the statement continues, along with several pages of argument refuting the article’s main points.

Purdum suggests that in the years since Clinton left the White House $12 million in debt, he has been caught up in a world of rich friends, adoring fans and borrowed jets. The article quotes one former aide calling Clinton’s current associates like billionaire Ron Burkle and movie producer Stephen Bing “radioactive.”

The aide says Clinton’s associates are compounding worries that the 61-year-old former president is running with a fast crowd

Not nuts, just, as the article suggest, cavernously narcissistic.

I'm sure that the writer knows that he'd better watch his back.

George Magazine published an article about hillary's dark side (ALL OF HER!) just before JFK, Jr. died.

(I know, y'all think it was an accident; but I disagree.)

BJ, the founder of Isflam (what he says is flam).

The Grand Wallah of Isflam Bill Clinton, may the interns be upon him (not the two-legged kind, the two-to-life kind).

When? Where? How and why? Don't you remember? You've got to PARSE everything he says. HELPED is the key word. And in that vein, we've ALL helped save the lives of millions just by paying our taxes which are then divied up around the world! s/off

I'm pretty sure they are referencing the work he did with former POTUS GHW Bush on Tsunami and hunger relief. Obviously they are taking credit for everyone in the world who got rained on that day.

The author ... is married to former Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers.

Is the job that bad that they'll all turn on their former masters?

The author, Todd Purdum, has covered Clinton for 16 years. He is married to former Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers.

My guess is that, back in the day, something untoward happened between Dee Dee & Slick - either he groped her [and she didn't want it], or maybe she was his one of his temporary "Lewinskis" and was devasted when he moved on to some different "Lewinskis" - whatever it was, Dee Dee has been holding a major grudge all these years, and her husband, Todd Purdum, also knows about it, and now is more than delighted to kick an old dog when it is down.

But Dee Dee's sexual history with Slick - however it transpired - is the driving force behind this piece.

“President Clinton has helped save the lives of 1,300,000 people in his post-presidency,...”

No irony bone in the person who wrote that statement. Bill is being slammed in part for being narcissistic so they make such an outlandish statement in his defense. ROFLMAO!!!

The rock that has for so long covered American politics has been tipped over and who crawls out but the real Bill, Black Liberation Theology, radical Catholicism, James McGreevey , Larry Craig, Eliot Spitzer, and so . . . .
