Via the Standard, Wizbangs got a hot tip that the head of McCains VP search team is on the ground in Juneau. If its true, though, then why not advertise that fact? Itd kick up some buzz
although maybe thats the problem. If they finally end up going with some more predictable choice, like Ridge or Mitt, itll feel like a letdown.

That’s like ordering an “extra medium” T-Shirt.
On the thought of a running mate for McCain, I’ve been thinking that Gov. Mark Sanford (south Carolina) might be an interesting choice. It would bring executive experience and someone who seems to be an experienced guy.
Can any Palmetto state freepers shed some light on your governor? Seems like he may be a good fit for McCain.
At this point, the question is - “which conservatives will she bring out to actually vote for the ticket instead of staying home in disgust”.
I think Sanford would be the best choice too—can’t believe McCain would make it.
Two terms on the city council and two terms as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, population roughly 9,000, 11 months on the oil and gas board, two years as governor.
A weak résumé for a vice president.
I like it, I hope he picks her as she will be a viable anti-Hill & Pelosi...

Of course that is the theory. It got a minority of votes in 2000 and only being a wartime president eeked out a 3% win in 2004.
Point being, the most extreme of the extreme who want to stay home usually live in the most extreme of the extreme locales. A handful of the extreme staying home in Texas or Oklahoma will not affect anything.
A handful of moderates in Ohio or Wisconsin or Michigan who can be enticed into McCain’s column by someone like them with connection to their area . . . wins the election.
Her answer is that she wants to get the Gas Pipeline going.
I think that we should agree that all references to or mentions of or anything else that in any way might cause anyone to think of McCain's bottom should be off limits.
Thank you.
Sarah has said in the past that she would run if asked.
Think of it. Can you name anyone in that slot who was truly “pro-drilling”?
Man this would be a move that would be fantastic.
And I really like the nickname “Saracuda”.
Hey all you Sarah fans out there, go find some You-Tube or audio of her speaking and then write back and tell us she is what we need. I don’t think so. This judging on some old beauty pageant photos just makes Freepers look stupid.
Please explain.
Maybe I’ll try to explain better.
I don’t care about her qualifications or her political beliefs. Based on that criteria, she may be qualified.
However, she has a baby with down’s syndrome. Special needs kids take lots of energy and effort to raise, and I don’t think that a nanny can do the job as well as a mommy.
I have a special needs kid (and mine is not as severe as hers) and it is very time consuming. It takes my full-time attention, and a lot of my husband’s time. They also have other young kids. Even if her husband is a stay-at-home dad, I don’t think this would be a good time. Special needs kids have lots of doctor’s visits, therapy sessions, etc. There’s also a lot of time just trying to figure out the best therapies to put your child into. It’s overwhelming, especially in the beginning.
Right now, her husband can’t replace her if she is breast feeding. It also takes a while for a woman’s body to get over having a baby. I don’t think I’d want a hormonal woman who just had a baby running for VP.
Maybe when all of her kids are older, she can run for VP.
