80% That was a hard quiz. I've been out of school for awhile.
Just for fun.

FREEP THIS QUIZ ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

Two of my mistakes were “D’OH” kinds. Two economics questions I concede, although I think my reading of the question is correct. Two were just plain wrong.

I also got 54 out of 60, 90%; I admit that some I only got by process of elimination, but it was fun and challenging.

Thanks for posting it.

My Result:

You answered 57 out of 60 correctly — 95.00 %
Average score for this quiz during May: 71.4%

Answers to Your Missed Questions:
Question #31 - A. Edmund Burke argued that society consists of a union of past, present, and future generations.
Question #58 - B. An increase in the volume of commercial bank loans.
Question #60 - B. social security.

I don't quite agree with their evaluation of the results. They seem to say that the cheaper, less prestigious colleges teach more effectively than the well-endowed, expensive prestigious schools. What I see in the data is that the smaller schools start with students who have more room to improve, while the “good” schools start with better students with less room for improvement. What essentially happens is that the difference between students at the schools shrinks between the start and end of their education.

My take on this is that students should go to schools that well represent in line with their achievement... less competitive students should go to less expensive schools to see the most bang for their buck. The only qualification I would make is to avoid places like Cornell, Yale, Duke, St John's and Princeton where students came out mis-educated.

It is apretty good test. And not just because I got 58 right.
Still i answered some not according to the truth, but based on the answers I expected them to want. For instance
3) The Constitution of the United States established what form of government?
The correct answer is Constitutional Republic, but I knew that they wanted "representative democracy."
5) Which battle brought the American Revolution to an end?
Yorktown was the last major battle of the American Revolution on American soil. There were skirmishes afterwards. Moreover, the international war included the Second Anglo-Mysore War which concluded in 1784 after the British victory at Coimbatore in 1783. Likewise the last French-British battle was in 1983 where the French retook Saint Pierre et Miquelon Islands.
57) The price of movie tickets has increased. According to the law of demand, what is likely to be the result?
The desired answer was "a. Theaters will sell fewer tickets."
The correct answer is "Not enough information provided. We need to know the elasticity of movie tickets and the price difference."

Cool. 56/60. And that included a stupid name mix-up between Johnson and Jackson.

Of course, it helps that I took the class this year, and the AP just a couple weeks ago.

Thanks, this is not the usual grade-school level test that I see on the Internet. Got a 95% score, not bad considering the difficulty level of the questions.

3) The Constitution of the United States established what form of government?

A. Direct democracy

B. Populism

C. Indirect democracy

D. Oligarchy

E. Aristocracy

Pretty much all I needed to see. The Constitution established a representative Constitutional Republic.

If they need to have someone explain that to them they need to take tests not give them.

Is this test the brainchild of some Brainac PolySci Professor at the University of BERSERKley, California?

Best regards,
