The only problem with your plan is that Libertarians, like Conservatives, vote on principle.
BUMP THAT, and thanks for getting snippy_about_it! :P
As a Reagan Conservative with socon leanings, I agree with you.
The only problem with the LP is their public position on the War on Terror. But they do may a good point [...]
Again, I agree on both points. But when faced with dire consequences, without an alternative solution to put forward, the Libertarians should resolve to resolve to remove us from such entanglements with as much grace and responsibility as can be managed within their principles.
We're 'in it' up to here already. To cut and run is not a solution. That is a major factor on whether I will vote for Barr, or not.
Dont sell the party short.
I would hope that the Libertarians see the powerful position they can attain. If they can bring themselves to build a platform palatable to Reagan Conservatives, they stand a very good chance of capturing and energizing the Conservative vote. Bob Barr is not a bad candidate in that regard.
That's the sad but true state of the 2008 election.
That’s even better
If McCain puts a rat like Liarman on his ticket I will vote for these guys.
LOL. If the name fits......
Wow, you’re right. I hadn’t noticed that. Hmmm.
The conservatives may now have a candidate they can vote for who is a true conservative.
Go ahead and change my post all you want. The facts are that your wasted 3rd party vote is going to Obama. That is the truth.
I’m not telling you how to vote I’m telling you like it is.
[When will we see a Conservative Party?]
The sooner, the better.
[A vote for a 3rd party canidate is a vote for Obama. Plain and simple.]
A vote for McCain is a vote for a liberal, simple and plain and is repulsive to conservatism.
Are you sure he'll veto anything? Maybe he'll use the Bush Method - Hope that the Supreme Court will reverse any bad legislation - worked real well before!
That was the only thing that worked for us in the early 90's. Course when we had total control from 2000-2006 we didn't do crap; even with the 9/11 mandate Bush had. We could have drilled for oil on the heads of Mt Rushmore if we wanted but the Pubs dropped the ball majorly.
“The facts are that your wasted 3rd party vote is going to Obama.”
That’s rather strange. I can see how you could consider it the same as staying home, but it’s obviously not the same as voting for Obama.
For those who are planning to stay home this year ( and there’s a lot of them who post on this website ), you might as well consider voting for Barr. At least he’s foursquare against the global warming hoax.
But every vote for a 3rd party candidate will make it that much easier for Obama to win in November. The 3rd party candidate (unless it’s Hillary) will never win, and you have only two realistic choices. Our political system is rigged for only two political parties, and no more. And that will probably never change, unfortunately. I think I could almost go for a switch to a parliamentary system. But I doubt that would ever happen in a thousand years.
That is exactly what it is: a vote for President B. Hussein Obama.
No, it isn't the truth. Here's why:
I am in the voting booth, but before I cast my vote, the totals are:
McCain - 45
Obama - 44
Barr - 10
Now, I vote for Barr and the totals are:
McCain - 45
Obama - 44
Barr - 11
Please explain why, after I voted for Barr, the Obama vote total did not increase by one, if your claim that a 3rd party vote (for Barr) is a vote for Obama is "the truth"?
Read their rationalizations. Then watch "Intervention" on A&E to see how it mirrors the clinical denial of an addict. Nothing we say will get through to them. Obama as President at this moment in American history recalls the worst turning points of Roman history. God help us indeed.
For those who are planning to stay home this year ( and theres a lot of them who post on this website ), you might as well consider voting for Barr. At least hes foursquare against the global warming hoax.
Your right about the GW hoax.
Ross Perot took enough votes from the first Bush to put Clinton in office with less than a 50% vote majority.
Put Barr on the shelf until 2012, he could win it all if he gets the nomination after the primaries.
I would love to see both conventions thrown into chaos, because not one front running candidate deserves our White House. But it’ll never happen.
