Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said presidential candidate John McCain has his own agenda and won't continue President Bush's policies.
"John McCain is his own man," said Romney, a former McCain rival for the Republican nomination who has been mentioned as a potential running mate.
"On economic matters, John McCain is in a very different place" than Bush, Romney said in an interview on Bloomberg Television's Political Capital with Al Hunt. "John McCain has been a frequent and vocal critic of George Bush. If you look at the conduct of the war in Iraq, John McCain was probably as outspoken a critic of the Bush administration as anyone."
Romney, 60, called McCain's health care plan "bold" and "a real reorientation" of the nation's health-care system.
"He presents some real strengths as an independent, maverick voice," Romney said.

Forward...Such a party already exists—The CP. Rev. Chuck Baldwin is a true conservative. He and The CP are being ignored by the MNM so few people know about him and that party.
Let me see...when is the last time I really cared what a liberal had to say....
Ummm...never.
Mitt take your liberal record and just go away.
I don't like him much, but on controlling spending, he is much, much better than Bush.
I plan to vote for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party for POTUS as a protest vote against both Barack Obama and John McCain! Also, Bob Barr still also works for the ACLU, and Bob Barr is a nut. Barr won’t get my vote, and I recommend that conservatives truly don’t vote for Barr.
McCain’s little cap-and-trade scam is estimated to cost $300 BILLION — PER YEAR.
His goal for granting amnesty adds billions more.
He can rail all he wants about a million of pork here and there, and I do appreciate that effort, but these other policies negate any mantle he may have held of being a “fiscal conservative.”
How about: Obama: If Mugabe married Madame Mao.
