Barack Obama yesterday launched his search for a running mate - as Democratic calls for a "marriage" to rival Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton reached new heights.
With the party sharply divided after a bruising primary season - and with Clinton having won many key states - a growing number of Democratic officials are now openly talking about an Obama-Clinton ticket that could unite the factions and take back the White House in November.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), a Clinton booster, told The Post, "I am one that believes that if it works out that Senator Obama is the nominee, the strongest ticket would be Senator Clinton as vice president. No question in my mind...The weight of the states he carried versus the states she carried. It's different. And, therefore, if you combine them both, you've got the best electoral path."

If so, I think he’s daring her to drop what she’s got on him, if anything.
I don’t think she has much on Obama. He was a nothing, and still is, when the FBI files were pilfered. However the superdelegates have much to fear about what’s in those files they don’t want their spouses to find out about.
While I don’t feel your pessimism on the possible result of OC, I can see where you are coming from: overwhelmed by your location, inundated 24/7 in the eastern heart of liberal insanity! Chin up! Steel your spine! Look beyond the boundaries of the Ithaca kool-aid! There are those of us in the Heartland who have your back! Frightening times, for sure, but there is sanity beyond your immediate neighborhood.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about leftists from Ithaca is that they have an incredible ability to turn on a dime and start supporting one a democrat nominee that they hated only weeks before.
In 2004, they booed at the sound of Kerry’s name because of his early support of the war. However, as soon as he got the nomination, the “Kerry in 04” signs sprung up in place of the Dean and Kucinich signs.
Based on experiences like that, I really doubt there will be as much dissension and dischord among the left as Rush thinks.
Frankly, if Obama is president it might be a plus to have the Clintons at the bottom of the ticket. He would have to spend so much time fending off attacks from his own VP/her husband that he might be even less effective than he otherwise would be.
It could be the ultimate gridlock.
After her assassination remark, she’s probably doomed any chance at the VP spot. She’ll have to blackmail her way onto the ticket. Really getting interesting.
Hillary being the second on the ticket? No way would she accept that, it would be too demeaning for her...
Obama may not be the smartest pol ever, but having to watch his back all the time from the traitorous Clintons is something I think he's learned already.
