Washington is broken. You need look no further than $4 per gallon for gas to see how political gamesmanship in Washington is impacting your life. Two years ago, congressional Democrats promised change but what weve seen instead is business-as-usual.
Just recently, lawmakers in the U.S. House killed an effort to remove from the Farm Bill three special provisions that would benefit a ski resort in Vermont, the San Francisco salmon industry and forest fish in Montana. And congressional Democrats have just introduced yet another tax hike -- $54 billion on small businesses to bankroll more Washington spending.
I dont believe this was the change the American people were expecting, and its become increasingly clear that the promises made two years ago have been broken. The renowned journalist Edward R. Murrow once said, Our major obligation is not to mistake slogans for solutions. Middle class families are tired of political rhetoric, tired of politicians talking about what theyre going do and tired of seeing promise after promise broken for political expediency.
Seventeen months ago, House Republicans embarked on a new journey to revive the common-sense conservative principles that built our party up after years in the wilderness. These principles speak to families struggling to make ends meet after filling up their cars, workers concerned about their jobs remaining here and to those who believe that their elected officials just arent listening.
We are listening. And were responding with an agenda that addresses those concerns.

But you keep coming back. I win!
Only because it's so much fun sticking it to a nitwit.
You want to believe you win? Fine. It suits your misguided opinion of yourself.
You're making me laugh so hard I can hardly type. A cover boy of McCain idiocy for sure. BWAHAAAAAAHAAA!
If I would have ignored what you said, you wouldn't have received a reply. Maybe you just didn't like my reply because I didn't advocate leaving the Republican party. I'm not about to let leftist and moderate Republicans run me out, especially when they know we have nowhere to go.
When it comes to advancing conservative politics, I am willing to accept baby-steps as opposed to being told that moving backward is actually winning. If conservatives leave a void in the Republican party, it will most certainly be filled with moderate refugee Democrats. The enemies in our party won't need to run us out if we leave voluntarily. So that leaves us with two sets of disgruntled conservatives. Those willing to stay and fight and those willing to give up and go elsewhere.
LOL...go back and read your own posts. You just can't decide what to think of me. It's funny how your argument is so weak that you have reduced yourself to replying with a series of ad hominem attacks.
There’s nothing left to take back. The GOP is flatlining, and no amount of rationalizing will erase that fact.
Consider professional help, Thumbsucker.
Your knees are bleeding.
Thought you might wanna know.
Sounds more like wishful thinking to me.
You think that’s what I “wish”?
You McCainiacs are dangerously stupid.
Well, that is a profound statement! I am shivering in the face of your towering intellect.
It is fascinating how you degenerate when your comments are questioned.
You’re kidding, right? Is that your absolute best?
Oh, I’m sorry. You are a McCainiac, after all. No critical thinking skills necessary or required to pull the lever. Even a monkey could go in your place.
*snort*
That might get you thru a 3rd grade debate, but it does nothing here. Just like Obama...absent of any substance.
Hang in there. You’ve seen the names and invective you’ve drawn from these left wing Republican people. You’re being effective. They just can’t understand that no amount of threats or tantrums will make us support McCain. Keep standing up to these bullies and louts.
I get a kick out of the ones who can’t even spell. They load up their hysteria ridden posts with names like “sissy” and then just like liberals, they accuse you of being a troublemaker for responding.
These Freeper liberals are both funny and pathetic. We had some great flame wars back when their cross dressing candidate, Madame Rudy, was deemed certain to win about a year ago.
You’ve been both dignified and classy, but I’ll warn you. It’s like spraying cockroaches under your sink. There’s plenty more there. We have a Rino infestation. We always have. I’ve been here since 1998. It’s very representative of what has happened to our party. Winning is all that matters to them, not governing, not good policy, certainly not conservatism. Just let the GOP win and take home their share of the loot and hang out in men’s rooms. That’s it... “Republican goood. Anyone else baaad. Repeat this again....” say the Rino zombies.
They won’t slink back into their hole until Aztlan John loses in November, but they’ll be back in a wink soon afterward, blaming us for their loss and demanding we vote for someone equally as repulsive. My best to you and fight the good fight. You are not alone, though many of us think it’s a waste of time to address these people.
I’ll admit being somewhat taken by surprise by the vehemence displayed by their posts, but soon came to the conclusion there was a cabal of McCain backers involved.
Then, when one carried it over yesterday morning, I’d had enough. They really need to get a life. Yes, it’s been seen before and will be again. I also tried to engage some more reasonable ones yesterday on another thread by posting reasonable points in a post, but have yet to hear back. Maybe they’re still waiting on talking points.
Thanks for your support. I know I’m not alone, I was actually having fun that day.
