Ron Paul Hopes to Crash McCain's Party

Sen. John McCain, taking a victory lap as the presumptive Republican nominee, happily poked fun at his only remaining opponent.

Asked during an appearance on "The Daily Show" last week which of the two Democratic nominees he preferred to run against in the general election, McCain quipped, "Ron Paul."

But Paul might get the last laugh during McCain's coronation at the party's convention in early September.

McCain's nomination may be certain, but he finds himself pressured by different wings of the conservative movement -- from the libertarians and the anti-war activists, to social conservatives and evangelical voters.

Simple - a free-market wide-open Adam Smith style economy is NOT Constitutional. Period.

When you made the claim that Paul supports a wide-open economy because it’s Constitutional, that’s flat out wrong. It’s not Constitutional, and if Paul supports it then he doesn’t support the Constitution (which is usually the rallying cry of Paulians).

Snipe is there simply because it appears you really haven’t read the Constitution, you just take the word of other Paulians that he really is “correct”. When in fact he’s not.

Oh, and he has the same ACU rating as McCain, so saying he’s more conservative or more “Constitutional” than McCain is pretty off-base, too...

Reagan was a free trader, and left the protectionist idiocy to the Democrats.

The entire concept of 'free trade' is different now, as compared to Reagan's day. It was never Reagan's intention for free trade to put America at the beck and call of internationalists, using the term to subvert US labor laws and safety regulations.

I was for free trade until I began to see the ultimate end as contained in the NAU/SPP. I am no longer. I highly doubt that Reagan would approve either.

I see, it is all a conspiracy.. lol... maybe it was a setup by the neocons. I'm sure Kelso, Black and company would love to know they are tools of the neocons to smear sweet, innocent Paul. They've been planning for this day for over 25 years, planting in ‘ghost writers’, laying plans of connections and associations, and planting in photo ops, all for this guy who averages about 5%.. yea, neocon conspiracy...

And you're Canadian? Supporting American Presidents, trying to argue the finer points of our candidates and our Constitution without being a citizen?

I'd suggest sitting down with the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the Declaration of Independence, and doing a LOT of reading before you start trying to talk politics for a country you're not even a citizen of... And where you can't even vote!

Yes, really great way to support Paul - be a foreigner who can't even vote and tell Americans how to vote. Paul must be proud - that's such a Constitutional position!

Well then, why not just post from KOS or DU.. the fact is, not all opinions are valid, some are nuts and are invalidated by their fundamental position flaws. If ‘all opinions are valid’, heck, let’s just go over and get some David Icke opinions on the reptilian agenda.

"Conspiracy"? Loaded, vague word, and one usually used as a catch-all for the purpose of blanket discrediting.

What I'd say it's all individual people who care so blindly about their cause that little slips in personal honesty here or there get unnoticed in pursuit of the larger goal. Something that, especially in the case of Paul's opponents, I'd say isn't unique to him.
