These folks are upset about trying to get more political balance and call it “radical”, but they practically worshipped Ward Churchill, a real radical?

“A recent pro-marijuana rally drew a crowd of 10,000, roughly a third the size of the student body. “

Of course only 10% of them were here in Earth at the time. ;)

CU seeks right-wing professor

Yeah, right.

Only to use her/him as a subject in brain-washing experients!
Especially to see if they can cause enough mental distress to
get their new "conservative" professor to commit suicide.

RWP was a former FR fellow, may he RIP. He was once here, and, a bit, a wee wee bit, missed. But I’m guessing he’ll never leave the land of corn where he lives for the land of buffalo. Never.

And RWP, if you read this, again, my thanks for introducing me I. Kant’s First Imperative....; I would have never found out about his Dad, and those choices his Dad made, without your...ahem, encouragement.

In fact, Mr. Peterson said it's not imperative that the new professor of conservative thought be an actual conservative.

Oh, well, in that case, why the need for a new professor? All of your current professors are already quite adept at lecturing disparagingly about conservatives from a liberal perspective.

And according to one professor's analysis of voter registration, the 800-strong faculty includes just 32 Republicans.

The left wouldn't sit still for this one minute. Why do our Republican leaders? Don't give me some pap about how we don't play by those rules. This has been outright surrender.

You know, we don't deserve to be the predominant force in this nation if we can't do better than this.

The other side talks about all out war, means it, and carries out that game plan. We talk of reaching out, do, and implement leftist policy after leftist policy.

Do we want to be successful or don't we? If we do, how can we put up with the caliber of leaders we do? It's time Conservatives put some generals in charge instead of some milk toast political pacifists.

We are poised to put a person who is a left of center Democrat in as our Presdent from the Republican side of the isle.

Just damn folks! What the hell...

"Why set aside money specifically for a conservative?" asks Curtis Bell, a teaching assistant in political science. "I'd rather see a quality academic than someone paid to have a particular perspective."

I wonder if Mr. Bell realizes the irony of his statement.

“the nation’s first Professor of Conservative Thought and Policy”

I think they’ll hire Howard Zinn.

As I said on the other thread, I’ll volunteer. But I need a 300% raise from my current position.

At least the kids don't dissemble about their (and their professors') vision of Leftists 'R' Us University.

Other students don’t have much sympathy. They love Boulder precisely because of its liberal swagger.

Sophomore Marissa Malouff sees the campus as a sort of re-education camp. Sheltered rich kids from out-of-state might come for the snowboarding, but while they’re here they get dunked in a simmering pot of left-wing idealism. And that, in her view, is how it should be.

“They need to learn about social problems and poverty and the type of things liberal professors are likely to talk about,” says Ms. Malouff, a Democrat.

For several decades, conservatives at CU had an outstanding champion in Edward Rozek. A champion of academic freedom, Rozek suffered under the Nazis during World War II, and four decades later endured persecution at the hands of "politically correct" campus leftists.

A Polish soldier who was wounded and imprisoned by the Germans during World War II, Rozek studied at Harvard after the war and joined the CU faculty in 1956. His acclaimed book Allied Wartime Diplomacy: a Pattern in Poland (New York: Wiley, 1958) was highly critical of Allied efforts to appease the Soviets, at Poland's expense, during World War II.

While a professor at CU, Rozek sought to counter the prevailing liberal-left dogma by bringing conservative speakers, including Senator Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.), onto the campus. Naturally, he soon raised the ire of the campus leftists. During the 1980's, they tried to railroad him into prison. The story of Rozek's ordeal at the hands of the "politically correct" crowd can be read here
