Oh yeah, I want to see the dresses, especially the varied colors of the dresses of the “House Party”. I’d read somewhere that Barbara was planning to wear a dressy outfit that included pants! That would be interesting, and I could imagine how comfortable that would be! I’m thinking in terms of that type of outfit for a Mother of the Bride or Groom, when any of our kids get married.
We have senior Bridesmaid and other Bridesmaids whereas you seem to either have one Bridesmaid and attendants or Maid of honour and Bridesmaids I suppose is differs from area to area and family to family what they call it. We also have the term matron of honour which is used for the senior bridesmaid if she is married otherwise normally a married lady would not be chosen as a bridesmaid.
When I was younger confetti was popular to be thrown at weddings but of recent years we seem to have gone back to rice and many venues do not allow confetti because of the staining from the colours but rice being natural are happy to allow that. Of course then do gooders etcs have got concerned that hard rice might hurt someone - I kid not so often unfortunately some places ban both. Most people manage to go over this someohow.
I think also you call what we refer to as the best man to the groomsman. What do you call male bridesmaids we call them page boys and and they often have the job of instructing where people should sit in the actual marriage ceremony venue.
For example, I loved to recreate the White House theme for Christmas decorating each year. (Ho hum...it just won't be the same after this one ;(. ) I would always start with basic bland items and color scheme, and then add accents that corresponded with their theme for the year. It sure was a lot of fun.
