My wife Mrs. Don-o is having gastric bypass surgery on Thursday, May 8. If all goes well, she should be discharged on Saturday.
She is very confident in the surgeon, who has done over 1800 of these operations (four hour procedure). She is doing all the research possible on her own and expects do fabulously.
The hope is for almost instant relief from diabetes and three or four related co-morbidities. The major post-op risk, statistically, is pulmonary embolism. In her case, this risk is mitigated by the fact that she's been walking and exercising a whole lot, but exacerbated by the fact that she has a presently incurable and progressive form of COPD (rheumatoid-related bronchiolitis.)
She says if y'all would pray for her she'll breathe a lot easier (!) Thanks, everybody.
Prayers up, Mrs. Don-o.
“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.(Mat 18:18 NKJV)
I join in prayer for Mrs Don-o, and those who care for her.

I had the “roux-en-y” Bariatric Surgery on Dec. 7th last year and had to stay in the hospital 10 days. So far, I’ve lost a total of 120lbs.
Keep us posted. My prayers are with your loved one.

You’ve got the prayers, Mrs D. I’ll get ahold of the priest and get candles lit too! You’ll be fine! God Bless!
O Lord our God, Who by word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to this Your servant and cure her of every sickness of which she is grieved; lift her up from her bed of pain, and send down upon her Your great mercy, and if it be Your Will, give to her health and a complete recovery; for You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You do we send up Glory: to Father, and to Son, and to Holy Spirit, both now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.
