Study Shows Republicans are Ketchup Freaks

Which condiment you favor when you lather your hot dog -- ketchup or mustard -- reveals your politics, according to a noted political scientist.

"People who mostly or entirely use ketchup are much more likely to favor the invasion of Iraq than those who use mustard," says Dr. Noah Frum, a senior fellow at the prestigious Institute for Political Advantage think tank.

"Red is an aggressive, war-like color, whereas yellow is much more passive and low-key, " he says. Dr. Frum conducted his study when one of the political parties, looking for an advantage in the upcoming November elections, came to him looking for new ways to identify possible supporters.

"We'd done the usual ones -- income, gender, education -- so we decided to focus on food."

Dr Frum gathered a number of subjects together, placed hot dogs and hamburgers in front of them, and gave them their choice of ketchup or mustard. Then he asked their opinions on a number of subjects, including the war in Iraq, terrorism and immigration.

"The ketchup eaters were much more likely to favor aggressive policies than the mustard-eaters," he says. "Their food preferences weren't the only thing that was 'yellow'."

I love ketchup, but as a conservative I have to ask how this study was funded. Taxpayers dollars?

I’m sorry, but ketchup is disgusting. And anyone who would put ketchup on a hot dog just isn’t right.

Ketchup is for those who can’t tolerate something spicy.

Ketchup is great on burgers.

Only children put it on hot dogs.

I put kraut on my hot dogs.

Sauerkraut and spicy mustard on a bratwurst....droool... I think I may clean off my grill and fire it up after work.

I could run a ketchup safehouse in my refrigerator. I keep a bottle for guests, but I always use something spicier my self - salsa, chili sauce, Tabasco, etc.

Got to be the silliest study on record.

Republican: Yes
Ketchup: Only on fries
Mustard: Any kind

It’s the taste, stupid, not the color. When I eat, I don’t color-coordinate.

Nah, I eat Ungers (Supervision — NSKC (Pareve))

I think it is more so I can pass gas in the car and make Mrs. MWT fume and the daughters laugh.

“And FWIW, mustard is healthier than ketchup.”

But somebody once told me that ketchup is a vegetable!!

Seriously though, mustard is so much tastier and has so many more flavor variations. I’ll use chili, mustard, onions, and kraut, but not ketchup.

I like ketchup on hamburgers, but the proper condiment for a hotdog is mustard and sauerkraut, unless, of course it’s a chilidog. (I’m getting heartburn just thinking about it.) And I think our foreign policy is not aggressive enough.

I’d rather have mustard than ketchup but not the yellow kind. I like it spicy. I wonder what that makes me.

"Red is an aggressive, war-like color, whereas yellow is much more passive and low-key, "

Flavor matters more than color. Mustard is far more aggressive on the tongue than ketchup. Anyway, I take mustard with my hot dogs and ketchup with my burgers and fries.

Hey, what about those of us who favored going into Iraq, but after six years ares saying, “If the most powerful military in the world can't beat a gang of thugs in 6 years, it's time for a change at the top.”? What do we favor?

150 years under the thumb of the Democrats and the republicans is enough, it is time for a change, a change to a party that loves this country and understands that we are a Republic.

Let us revolt at the ballot box, anyone but a green, a democrat, or a republican.

“I’ve been using W Ketchup for almost four years now. Great stuff!”

I’ve been using it myself, and gave bottles of it to various members of my family. I only use it on burgers, though. I use mustard on my hotdogs. I was wondering what to eat tonight and now I know: hotdogs.
