FORT WAYNE, INDIANA - Throughout her life, Linda Eggert, a 51-year-old stay-at-home mother, has been a staunch Republican. But on May 6, when the marathon Democratic primary comes to Indiana, Eggert will cast her ballot for Hillary Clinton. more stories like this

"Everybody is kind of rethinking their politics because of everything that is going on," Eggert said, citing her growing concerns about Iraq and the economy. She added, "Do I think [Indiana] could go Democrat for once in November? I hope it could."
Long an afterthought in presidential politics, Indiana Democrats - who haven't delivered their state in the general election since 1964, and haven't had a meaningful say in picking their party's nominee since 1968 - see the growing excitement over the contest between Clinton and Barack Obama as an opportunity to build up muscle in places where the party's national reach had atrophied.
The interest in the Clinton-Obama fight, they say, is helping to shift political identities. Thousands of people are signing up as new voters - 383,954 Hoosiers have registered since the 2006 election - while some people who have always voted Republican are deciding that they might just be comfortable casting a ballot for a Democrat.

And I'm a staunch Democrat. These articles are so tiresome, predictable bull$hit that you'd think even liberals would get bored repeating 'em. It's also the same crap you hear on call-in shows, jam packed with rodent activists.
Before the Pennsylvania Primary, the MSM was reporting that all those Republicans registering as Democrats were simply Republicans enamored with Obama who wanted to vote for him.
Then on election night, Hillary won by 10 points.
Once again, in Indiana, Republicans are registering as Democrats. This is obviously the result of Operation Chaos. Why is the Media afraid to report it?
Why is the Media afraid to report (OC)it? Because they are afraid to give el Rushbo credit for kickin’ the chickins?
bingo. This “the Democrats are invigorated and excited” is all smoke and mirrors CRAP.
Dead on correct..........the hook is set.
Thank you! I was going to write the same sentiment but you saved me the trouble.
The idea isn’t to pick a beatable candidate.
Its to keep the blood feud between Hussein and Hitlery going until Denver and to guarantee there’s no hope of a first-ballot win for either of them.
The idea is to cause the Democrat Party to implode.
Why are so many people here so myopic about this? They’re allowing their CDS to blur clear vision.

There are only 2 of them. One of them is guaranteed a first ballot win.
Once again, in Indiana, Republicans are registering as Democrats. This is obviously the result of Operation Chaos. Why is the Media afraid to report it?The media aren't afraid to report it, they are just too stupid to see it.
Not if they don’t have the number of delegates needed. And don’t forget the huge war over credentials when Hillary tries to get Florida and Michigan’s delegates seated.
The Dems created their silly rules. I wonder how they like being hoisted by their own petard?
Ha ha. Thats a nice dream, but nothing like that will happen.
Where does this storm and warfare nonsense come from anyway?
Is it from too many Sci Fi movies? I mean honestly, where?
What WILL happen is that the democrats will have a hotly contested nomination, and they will resolve their differences to go on and fight their real enemy.
Us.
Once again, in Indiana, Republicans are registering as Democrats. This is obviously the result of Operation Chaos. Why is the Media afraid to report it?By the way, Indiana is an open primary. Republicans can vote in the Democrat race, and believe me, they will be in mass. Hillary is going to swamp Obama by better than 20 points. It is going to be a bloodbath, and the Democrats are going to freak. Operation Chaos is going to throw the Democrats into a tailspin.
I keep thinking most of these shows should have an automatic dump as soon as the caller utters that phrase, “I was a lifelong...” The person is ALWAYS a plant. C-Span is the absolute worst. Some Black guy called in on the Republican line a few weeks ago, identified himself as such, but lo and behold, he had only positives for rodent candidates and ultraleft positions.
An infamous one from a decade ago when Sen. Jesse Helms appeared with one caller praising the Senator and just as everyone was all smiles around the table, just as they’re about to hang up, the “plant” drops the bomb, “Thanks, Senator, for all you’ve done in keeping down the ni**ers !” You can guess the reaction and the look of absolute shock on Helms’s face.
Can you imagine if Ted Kennedy appeared on the program and a Republican plant praised him to the nth degree and then dropped, “Senator, you’re a testament to the dangerous combination of unlimited wealth, sycophantic media worship can do to prop up an unaccountable buffoonish, incoherent, alcoholic, murdering Marxist tyrant. You’re the ultimate nightmare of the Founding Fathers.” That would NEVER happen. They’d never allow it.
Those programs need to get rid of the live callers, go exclusively to submitting emails, that way the hosts can get rid of the plants, loaded questions, and political talking points.
Oh, no, I understand what you’re saying, but picking the most beatable candidate is also a part of it, too (along with perpetuating the feud). I do hope the rodent convention and activities out in the streets of Denver make Chicago ‘68 look like a Sunday afternoon picnic. ;-D
Hmm. judging by the money pouring in to the democrat coffers on a daily basis, I will say that I agree with them.
not sure about converting GOP members, but McCain sure isn't going to keep many vacillating voters on the farm, either.
The differences that have been brought to a head by these two particular candidates are not ones that can be resolved. They are identity issues, race and gender. Unless all Democrats are going to transform into mulatto hermaphrodites at the convention, they are in for some real problems come November.
