THE scariest photo I have seen on the internet is www.spaceweather.com, where you will find a real-time image of the sun from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory, located in deep space at the equilibrium point between solar and terrestrial gravity.
What is scary about the picture is that there is only one tiny sunspot.
Disconcerting as it may be to true believers in global warming, the average temperature on Earth has remained steady or slowly declined during the past decade, despite the continued increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, and now the global temperature is falling precipitously.

I was noted the laws and growth of government started in the 60’s - it was the last balanced budget - no fed welare, free housing, open borders. he movement started when the supreme court ruled in 1898 income taxes were un-Constitutional and the movemement created the amendments to the constitution to provide for income taxing and the government grew from there so I think we are in pretty much agreement.
Actually, I sort of had that sense as I was typing my reply.... Yes, the 16th Amendment was the brainchild of the very chuckleheads I was referring to.
Then, of course, the Fed was started around that time, etc., etc. The ‘60s were just when things started to take off. I remember there were a lot of older folks around college campuses in the early ‘70s. The “select few” would be invited to get-togethers at out-of-the-way houses with these guys. Some who went to these places later became full-time “revolutionaries” and often would drop out of school.
Makes me wonder how many ANSWER-LA organizers I went to school with.
Actually, the theory is that the reason we haven't ALREADY gone into an ice age (according to past records, we are overdue), is that human activity (specifically agriculture) has greatly increased the METHANE (CH4) concentration, and thus delayed the "global cooling". Methane is a FAR more potent greenhouse gas than CO2.
And if an ice age rears its ugly head, we now know how to make tetrafluroromethane (CF4), which is an even MORE potent greenhouse gas than CH4. I can see auxiliary tanks being put into all airliners to seed the upper atmosphere with CF4, to drastically increase the greenhouse effect to prevent a new Ice Age.
We're not nearly as helpless these days as we were during the LAST Ice Age.

As for me, I moved back to Minnesota in order to cool off from Phoenix. Bring it on.
Cheers!
Details, please? (In earnest.)
Cheers!

As I was reading your post, I just knew you were from Louisiana.
The giveaway was the giant roaches.
It does’t matter that we might be entering an ice age, you can be sure the envirowhacko’s will blame that on us too.
What a drag - - I’m still hoping for lots of “global warming”.
Oh, yeah! But of course!
Thanks SWB. :’)
The sun has been pale white lately, no heat in it. Yesterday the light was reddish, which means smoke in the air, so something out there on the taiga is burning already.
Yes, I live on the Sponge Surrounded By Water-aka, N.O. area.
Why do I think, tho, that even an Ice Age wouldn’t faze the aircraft carrier sized roaches? They would probably get more armored and get skis.
You’re right, I was only looking at US temps.
