BTW, how old was this boy who was put in the trunk? He was a teenager, and he apparently wasn't forced into the trunk.

Do you remember how long it took to warm up and for the picture to go full screen? And did you ever have to hit the top of it, to get it to on?
We never had the 27" Chromacolor, settling for the 23" Black & White console. As a youngster, I was always fascinated with the white dot on the screen when it was powered off. I do remember endless fiddling with the horizontal and vertical controls when pulling in the distant NYC stations. My dad used a device called a "trap" that was used to block the powerful New Haven channel 8 signal so that channel 9 (WOR) and the Mets could come in.
I spent a lot of time with the television for my entertainment in those days, but half the time was spent trying improve reception and pull in distant stations on summer evenings. Cable took all the fun out of TV.

Better than 6 Flags Over Texas. And a hell of a lot cheaper! LOL!
I remember riding from our fishing camp on the MS Gulf Coast up to our hometown about 2 hours away in the back of Daddy's truck. It was fine, unless it happened to start raining. Riding two hours under a tarp on a steamy summer day ain't fun at all!

Having ridden in a trunk before of my own free will before this thing is entirely blown all out of proportion.

yikes...and you could probably fit 2-3 more in the trunk right next to the 4 set of golf clubs. Nah. Four in the back seat and one in the front between Mom and Dad. Of course if you had a visiting cousin or a neighbor along for the ride, someone would lie on the shelf behind the back seat under the rear window.
