BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Authorities enter Eldorado-area temple (Fundamentalist LDS cult)
Go San Angelo ^ | 5 April 08 | Paul A. Anthony

Posted on 04/06/2008 5:27:22 AM PDT by SkyPilot

Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.

The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.

The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriff’s deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.

The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the state’s Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.

Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.

“In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst,” Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have “medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.”

Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.

Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriff’s deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.

“There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship,” Palmer said Saturday afternoon. “If an agreement cannot be reached … law enforcement will have to — as gently and peaceably as possible — make entry into that place.”

Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.

Palmer said she didn’t know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.

The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.

“Anytime someone says, ‘Don’t look here,’” she said, “it makes you concerned that’s exactly where you need to look.”

The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.

The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriff’s deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compound’s residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.

“Things have been a little tense, a little volatile,” she said.

Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.

No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.

Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.

“They’re in the process of looking,” she said. “They’re literally about halfway through.”

These three are One Everlasting, self existing YHWH, the LIFE/BREATH who made all things and who has One and only One “SEEN Similitude”, who is YHWH the WORD, and in whose One image Adam is made [Genesis 1:26-28; Romans 5:14], and who is now come in second human being flesh creation, in a body prepared in the womb of a virgin for His donning/garmenting [Isaiah 59], to be our Kinsman/Redeemer.

Compare that to all created kinds/spirits who are dressed in one similitude:
Adam is one kind/name/spirit/ with one similitude [our flesh]: “male and female made He them and called their name Adam”; “one flesh, one bone, one blood/life, one spirit”, and two persons. All these things are so stated in the Word of God. We are one kind/spirit/being, and were created to multiply the kind until the house called Adam was finished and earth was filled, for the dwelling of the UNSEEN Glory, as His sons/temple/house.
We fell from that purpose in the fall and so, we wear clothes to hide the shame of our vanity of being, in Adam.

In Hebrew original, Adam is the name of our one human kind, and we are all the multiplied one, as individual seed/persons.

Apple; orange; deer; canine; feline;...and so on and so forth, all individual created spirits have thier own “flesh”, or garments, in which to dwell, and the created/formed spirit of each drives them to obey the commandment of the creator [Who is the Father, by that creation, of the spirits of all flesh], to “be fruitful and multiply” the kind by the seed created within. Malachi 2:15 shows why we were made “one” spirit, for the multiplication of sons of God; but we are not sons of God since the fall/defilement/death, in spirit, of our head/firstborn/chief.

What could be so "holy" in their temple that would require the kind of armor that requires jackhammers and jaws tools?

Who knows?

They DO have an exorcism type of ritual to 'cleanse' the Temple before 'official' use.

You see, the Gentiles that were allowed in during Open House, following end of construction, 'defiled' the insides.

They succeeded in killing Joseph, but he had finished his work.
He was a servant of God, and gave us the Book of Mormon.
He said the Bible was right in the main, but, through the translators and others, many precious portions were suppressed, and several other portions were wrongly translated; and now his testimony is in force, for he has sealed it with his blood.
As I have frequently told them, no man in this dispensation will enter the courts of heaven, without the approbation of the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jun.
Who has made this so?
Have I?
Have this people?
Have the world?
No; but the Lord Jehovah has decreed it.
If I ever pass into the heavenly courts, it will be by the consent of the Prophet Joseph.
If you ever pass through the gates into the Holy City, you will do so upon his certificate that you are worthy to pass.
Can you pass without his inspection?
No; neither can any person in this dispensation, which is the dispensation of the fulness of times.
In this generation, and in all the generations that are to come, everyone will have to undergo the scrutiny of this Prophet.
They say that they killed Joseph, and they will yet come with their hats under their arms and bend to him; but what good will it do them, unless they repent?
They can come in a certain way and find favor, but will they?

Well after this is over I want to know if any or how much of Texas tax dollars went into this .

Not only Texas tax dollars, but one link I read stated Jeffs had pumped millions of dollars from his other compounds in other states into the building of the Texas compound....AND a good portion of those millions most likely came from welfare benefits and other scams on government entitlements.

Poor Arizona and Texas...billions of state dollars for illegal alien benefits and millions more for polygamist welfare.

“Secondly, even if these items could be purchased by them, LDS missionaries don’t necessarily have the “cash on hand” to be buying snack items. Finally, their lives are pretty much scheduled for them 16-18 hrs. a day & the rest is pure sleep time...so on some weeks, even getting to a store to make such a purchase wouldn’t be a sure thing... So, care packages are a “way of life” for many LDS missionaries)”

That is what I was really curious about, the Hot tamales are just a little box of cinnamon candy, as are the atomic fire balls and the mints, all available at the local 7-11 or Circle K.

This and other common item care packages are for the Provost MTC.

I am a little curious about how the group handles those young males as they are out recruiting and I thought that there may be restrictions on their spending, or their shopping or other activities.

_______________________________________________

If you read more about Islam, you will see many similarities with mormonism...

The false prophet Joseph Smith wanted to be like Mohammad...
___________________________________________

In the heat of the Missouri “Mormon War” of 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim:

“I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was ‘the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword.’ So shall it eventually be with us’Joseph Smith or the Sword!’ “ [18]

It is most interesting that a self-proclaimed Christian prophet would liken himself to Mohammed, the founder of Islam. His own comparison invites us to take a closer look as well. And when we do, we find some strikingand troublingparallels. Consider the following.

• • Mohammed and Joseph Smith both had humble beginnings. Neither had formal religious connections or upbringing, and both were relatively uneducated. Both founded new religions by creating their own scriptures. In fact, followers of both prophets claim these scriptures are miracles since their authors were the most simple and uneducated of men. [19]

• • Both prophets claims of having angelic visitations and of receiving divine revelation to restore pure religion to the earth again. Mohammed was told that both Jews and Christians had long since corrupted their scriptures and religion. In like manner, Joseph Smith was told that all of Christianity had become corrupt, and that consequently the Bible itself was no longer reliable. In both cases, this corruption required a complete restoration of both scripture and religion. Nothing which preceded either prophet could be relied upon any longer. Both prophets claim they were used of God to restore eternal truths which once existed on earth, but had been lost due to human corruption.

• • Both prophets created new scripture which borrowed heavily from the Bible, but with a substantially new “spin.” In his Koran, Mohammed appropriates a number of Biblical themes and charactersbut he changes the complete sense of many passages, claiming to “correct” the Bible. In so doing he changes many doctrines, introducing his own in their place. In like manner, Joseph Smith created The Book of Mormon, much of which is plagiarized directly from the King James Bible. Interestingly, claims that this same Bible has been substantially corrupted and is therefore unreliable. In addition, Joseph Smith went so far as to actually create his own version of the Bible itself, the “Inspired Version,” in which he both adds and deletes significant portions of text, claiming he is “correcting” it. In so doing he also changes many doctrines, introducing his own in their place.

• • As a part of their new scriptural “spin,” both prophets saw themselves as prophesied in scripture, and both saw themselves as a continuation of a long line of Biblical prophets. Mohammed saw himself as a continuation of the ministry of Moses and Jesus. Joseph Smith saw himself as a successor to Enoch, Melchizedek, Joseph and Moses. Joseph Smith actually wrote himself into his own version of the Bibleby name.

• • Both prophets held up their own scripture as superior to the Bible. Mohammed claimed that the Koran was a perfect copy of the original which was in heaven. The Koran is therefore held to be absolutely perfect, far superior to the Bible and superceding it. In like manner, Joseph Smith also made the following claim. “I told the Brethren that The Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding its precepts, than by any other book.” [20]

• • Despite their claim that the Bible was corrupt, both prophets admonished their followers to adhere to its teachings. An obvious contradiction, this led to selective acceptance of some portions and wholesale rejection of others. As a result, the Bible is accepted by both groups of followers only to the extent that it agrees with their prophet’s own superior revelation.

• • Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith taught that true salvation was to be found only in their respective religions. Those who would not accept their message were considered “infidels,” pagans or Gentiles. In so doing, both prophets became the enemy of genuine Christianity, and have led many people away from the Christ of the Bible.

• • Both prophets encountered fierce opposition to their new religions and had to flee from town to town because of threats on their lives. Both retaliated to this opposition by forming their own militias. Both ultimately set up their own towns as model societies.

• • Both Mohammed and Joseph Smith left unclear instructions about their successors. The majority of Mohammed’s followers, Sunni Muslims, believe they were to elect their new leader, whereas the minority, Shiite Muslims, believe Mohammed’s son was to be their next leader. Similarly, the majority of Joseph Smith’s followers, Mormons, believed their next prophet should have been the existing leader of their quorum of twelve apostles, whereas the minority, RLDS, believed Joseph Smith’s own son should have been their next prophet. Differences on this issue, and many others, have created substantial tension between these rival groups of each prophet.

• • Mohammed taught that Jesus was just another of a long line of human prophets, of which he was the last. He taught that he was superior to Christ and superceded Him. In comparison, as we have just quoted a few paragraphs above, Joseph Smith made this following claim.

“I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.” [21]

In light of these parallels, perhaps Joseph Smith’s claim to be a second Mohammed unwittingly became his most genuine prophecy of all.

What it IS about is that the Unites States of America, and specifically Texas, have a huge honking problem with polygamy. We have one view for it: it is against THE law. The ONLY law. The one we all voted on and MADE the law. So all you LDS or FLDS or Fee-Fie-Foe LDS, listen up: we don’t need your stinking rationalizations. One wife. It’s the LAW. The ONLY law. Deal with it.

Absolutely.

Too bad so many here just had to add all this blubber to the thread:

"Bbbbbut - you all are using this to say the fLDS are really LDS - which they aren't! Just because they have the same Doctrine and Covenants, and the Book of Mormon, and practice polygamy like Joseph Smith and Brigham Yound did - that does not make them LDS. And anyway, what is SO wrong with polygamy? There is really a beautiful side to it also! Plus, Jesus was descended from polygamy - and it was in the Old Testament. So polygamy is good! So THERE! And STOP attacking me!!!"
