Local and state officials entered the temple of a secretive polygamist sect late Saturday, said lawmen blockading the road to the YFZ Ranch near Eldorado.
The action comes hours after local prosecutors said officials were preparing for the worst because a group of FLDS members were resisting efforts to search the structure.
The Texas Department of Public Safety trooper and Schleicher County sheriffs deputy confirmed that officials have entered the temple but said they had no word on whether anything occurred in the effort.
The incursion into the temple caps the three-day saga of the states Child Protective Services agency removing at least 183 women and children from the YFZ Ranch since Friday afternoon. Eighteen girls have been placed in state custody since a 16-year-old told authorities she was married to a 50-year-old man and had given birth to his child.
Saturday evening, ambulances were brought in, said Allison Palmer, who as first assistant 51st District attorney, would prosecute any felony crimes uncovered as part of the investigation inside the compound.
In preparing for entry to the temple, law enforcement is preparing for the worst, Palmer said Saturday evening. They want to have medical personnel on hand in case this were to go in a way that no one wants.
Apparently as a result of action Saturday night at the ranch, about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a Schleicher County school bus unloaded another group of at least a dozen more women and children from the compound.
Although members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or FLDS, have provided varying degrees of cooperation to the sheriffs deputies and Texas Rangers searching the compound, all cooperation stopped once authorities tried to search the gleaming white temple that towers over the West Texas scrub, Palmer said.
There may be those who would oppose (entry) by placing themselves between law enforcement and the place of worship, Palmer said Saturday afternoon. If an agreement cannot be reached law enforcement will have to as gently and peaceably as possible make entry into that place.
Sect members consider the temple, dedicated by then-leader of the sect Warren Jeffs in January 2005 and finished many months later, off-limits to those who are not FLDS members, said Palmer, who prosecutes felony cases in Schleicher County.
Palmer said she didnt know the size or makeup of the group inside the temple.
The earlier refusal to provide access was even more disconcerting because CPS investigators have yet to identify the 16-year-old girl or her roughly 8-month-old baby among the dozens removed from the compound, Palmer said.
Anytime someone says, Dont look here, she said, it makes you concerned thats exactly where you need to look.
The girl told authorities in two separate phone calls a day apart that she was married to a 50-year-old man, Dale Barlow, who had fathered her child, Palmer said.
The joint raid included the Texas Rangers, CPS, Schleicher County and Tom Green County sheriffs deputies and game wardens from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
Although CPS and Department of Public Safety officials have described the compounds residents as cooperative, Palmer disagreed.
Things have been a little tense, a little volatile, she said.
Authorities removed 52 children Friday afternoon and 131 women and children overnight Friday. About 40 of the children are boys, said CPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner.
No further children have been taken into state custody since Friday, when 18 girls were judged to have been abused or be at imminent risk for abuse. CPS has found foster homes for the girls, Meisner said, and will place them after concluding its investigation.
Meisner declined to comment on the fate of the 119 other children and said authorities were still searching the ranch for others Saturday evening.
Theyre in the process of looking, she said. Theyre literally about halfway through.
Well, I think one reason why is there's a "love-hate" relationship by LDS with polygamy. The "hate" part is...
...the reputation it emits;
...the reminder that their ancestors were part of an overt law-breaking sub-culture--often using intentional deception in the 1880s, 1890s, and 1900s to continue its practice;
...the overt linkage it establishes with the fLDS;
...and the eternal light it shines on a part of their "Scripture" (D&C 132)-- a part's neon light which was supposed to have been turned off & rendered moot in 1890--but hasn't been.
Contemporary Mormons' "love" affair with polygamy is that they believe most or all of those 19th century & early 20th century LDS polygamists are still alive & are still practicing polygamy in the celestial kingdom...plus any contemporary LDS who were serially married to women & who were sealed to each in the temple "for eternity" would likewise, under this belief, be eternal polygamists!!! [There's just no escaping polygamy for the mainstream Mormon church!!!]
Look at how Mitt Romney was "Poster Boy" for exemplifying this "love-hate" relationship with polygamy. On the one hand, his great-grandfather (not great-great grandfather as he was quoted below), was a polygamous man who married his fifth wife 7 years after the LDS "prophet" publicly said, "No more new plural marriages." So how did Mitt respond to CBS last year on the campaign trail? (He said polygamy was "awful"):
"I have a great-great grandfather. They were trying to build a generation out there in the desert and so he took additional wives as he was told to do," Romney...said..."And I must admit I can't imagine anything more awful than polygamy."
The "love" part, of course, comes, in that who can fail to stop loving their family & relatives?
But the "love-hate" relationship of polygamy is inherent in the very core of the practice. Joseph Smith's 14-year-old plural wife, Helen Mar Kimball, said at first she "hated" polygamy. It was often the case that the earlier wives would resent the add-on wives. It locked the ugly reality of jealousy into the very nature of the relationship!
Take a look at Romney's great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney, who took his 5th wife, Millie Eyring Snow, in 1897 at the age of 54. According to an author whose ancestors were polygamists, "Millie Snow was a widow of Erastus Snow, had considerable monehy, and was resented by first four wives because of husband's attention of her." (Solemn Covenant, B. Carmon Hardy, appendix)
Imagine being the women marrying Miles Park Romney...Hannah, who is his same age, 19...but then 5 years later comes Caroline, age 21...then 6 years later comes Cathrine--she's 18, Miles is 30...then 4 years later is Annie--she's 18 or 19, Miles is 34. Then they all get established as a clan for 20 years--each of the 4 wives bearing Miles babies--only for yet a fifth (wealthy)wife to enter the scene & capture all this attention from the household patriarch.
BTW, like father, like son...one of Romney's sons was Miles Archibald Romney, who married all 3 of his plural wives after the manifesto which supposedly "halted" polygamy (1898, 1902, 1909). These were the "add-on" wives to his first wife, who Miles Archibald Romney married when she was 16 (maybe 15).
Is that true, all the women and children have been removed? The last I heard they were still trying to search the place but that was days ago. FR is the source of 99% of my news so perhaps this is general knowledge.
Someone give you a refresher course?
You reallt are not to sure yourself I see it in your post, but so long as it isnt’ LDS you will believe anything someone else tells you!

Take a read through Matthew chapter seven.

You point is?
No I do not know if they removed all women and children. I have just seen the news reports showing bus loads of women and girls being taken away “for interviewing’ whatever that is.
The topic of false prophets ...
We believe in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost they are one in mind!
Roman 15
6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No, you dont believe in the Trinity...
And that scripture only mentions God the Father and God the Son...
That scripture is not about the Triune God being “one in mind”
You really should know for yourself so far I have not hear any of you telling me how you can discern a good one for your selves.
You like to talk about the Holy Ghost but refuse to trust yourselves if that is him or not!
Someone give you a refresher course?
______________________________________
Dont need a refresher course
The Holy Spirit already told me that the mormon cult is not of God...
And that God believes in the Trinity...
And that’s why it’s in the Bible...
HA ha!
Joseph Smith and his two angels of light mock you; my dear!
Is it THAT arcane??
I guess I erred when I said HATE.
It looks like IGNORE or POOH-POOH would have been a better match.
What about other prophets such as Moses, when they receive revelations from the Lord?
Dont they too say the samething?
Evidently St. PAUL didn't say anything worthwhile.....
You vile GENTILE!!!
How many times have you been TOLD not to DO that???
--MormonDude(Yer startin' to get me RILED!)
Yeah... sure...
Sure!!
That ain't SCRIPTURE!!
Who CARES what some bozo has said if it ain't SCRIPTURE!!
Are you trying to tell us what we BELIEVE again; Gentile?
--MormonDude(HMmmm???)
TWO of which have PHYSICAL bodies!
SEE!!!
But NONE of them has EVER show his face around any of OUR Temples!!!
--MormonDude(We are too holy for them to abide!)
