Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton released tax data Friday showing they earned $109 million over the last eight years, an ascent into the uppermost tier of American taxpayers that seemed unimaginable in 2001, when they left the White House with little money and facing millions in legal bills.
The bulk of their wealth has come from speaking and book-writing, which together account for almost $92 million, including a $15 million advance — larger than previously thought — from Mr. Clinton’s 2004 autobiography, “My Life.” The former president’s vigorous lecture schedule, where his speeches command upwards of $250,000, brought in almost $52 million.
During that time, the Clintons paid $33.8 million in federal taxes and claimed deductions for $10.2 million in charitable contributions. The contributions went to a family foundation run by the Clintons that has given away only about half of the money they put into it, and most of that was last year, after Mrs. Clinton declared her candidacy.
Mrs. Clinton’s campaign released the eight years of income tax information late Friday, following a rising clamor on the campaign trail for her to follow the lead of her opponent, Senator Barack Obama, who had previously disclosed his tax returns for the same period. In what proved to be an awkward juxtaposition, the disclosure of the records — which revealed the Clintons to be in the top one-hundredth of 1 percent, or roughly 14,500, of all taxpayers — came on the day that Mrs. Clinton called for the creation of a cabinet-level post to tackle poverty.

And let us not forget all of the current ‘Deals’ they are or might be involved in that have not been consummated or liquidated. Bill has got some Eastern Europe thing where he is peddling influence and contacts for what I understand to be Mega-Bucks. I’m sure there are literally tens if not hundreds of these types of things that will not even appear in a Tax Return for years, if ever.
And these two scumbags were stealing White House fixtures, silverware and put out a shopping list for their ‘Friends’ to buy them more graft. It appears all these millions were just not enough to sate their greed.
The Presidency was very, very good to Bill. Too bad he didn’t return the favor.

Viacom protected their $15million investment in the Clintons when they overdubbed CHEERS over the BOOS that Hillary received from the NYPD and NYFD at the Concert for New York and rebroadcast that Stalinist account of the historical record on VH1 and SeeBS and released that edited account to home video.
She “got away” with the payoff because she was paid in the brief window between being elected and actually being sworn in. Nice ethics charge dodge.

Wrong again, NY Slimes. We didn’t get to see their 2007 returns, with some really interesting campaign cash tucked in, I’d wager, so the obscene amount of cash these two grifters made was done in the SEVEN short years since he left office.
And how much had they banked WHILE he was President? They didn’t start with zero in the bank when he left office. I’d like to see their total net worth since 1992 to let the public know how these two phonies have enriched themselves while “feeling the pain” of the gullible “poor”. Maybe the msm could investigate that for us.

From issues such as Race, Illegal Immigration, Corruption in general, the WOT on through to the disparate treatment afforded to things like OJ Simpson the Society is so far from being what it was envisioned to be it is frightening.
The Clintons are just a symptom of the serious situation I think we are faced with. Bush and his henchmen are no better IMO and that is the problem - There doesn't seem to be any alternative as the current slate of candidates for POTUS is testament.
