How long can a free society last that allows the likes of Oliver Stone to herald it’s history?

I’m no fan of Bush by a long shot, but when Oliver Stone becomes involved in a project, you can expect credibility and even sanity to be in short supply by the time the project is presented to the public.

This is another movie I’ll be taking a pass on. Between Michael Moore and this clown, I’ve seen about 1/4 of one movie of theirs. That’s all I could stomach.

Moore’s” Fahrenheit 9/11” came out before the 2004 election but it didn’t prove to have much of an effect. “The right-wingers did a good job of discrediting the message and the messenger,” said Toplin.

Yep, it was all a right-wing conspiracy that Moore’s film was filled with ridiculous lies and distortions that were easily debunked. Moore was soo discredited as a messenger, he won the Cannes, Oscar, and made hundreds of millions from his adoring liberal and communist fans.

Maybe someone should do a movie about how McCain and Obama spent their respective youths. McCain was beaten by Marxists, while Obama embraced Marxism.

Doubt Hollywood will make that one.

Next film is about Hillary’s nobel prize for physics? And the firefight that ensued when she landed to collect the prize?

Bush's reported obsession with invading Iraq, which Stone will portray as a desire to avenge Saddam Hussein's assassination attempt on Bush's father and his frustration with the failed search for WMDs

Stopped reading here.

Waste of my time.

It's a classic American story:

More like

It's a classic Liberal (slanted) story based on rumors, opinions, lies and a lot of BS to make a great President look bad

you can expect credibility and even sanity to be in short supply and the DUers/moveoners will eat it up and the rest of the country will not care.

How long can a free society last that DOESN'T ‘allow’ Oliver Stone his freedom to make his movies?

The moment the government stops him from making his silly movies is the moment our Republic ceases to be free.

Don't throw a hissy. The movie will probably flop, costing Oliver Stoned a lot of money, and costing its viewers a few hours of their life.

Lets not kill the 1st Amendment over this little bit of inanity.

Jim Garrison and Richard Nixon were dead so they had no defense to Stone’s fantasy pictures.

I suspect this film is going to be hailed by left wing reporters as great when it’s a work of fiction that fulfills Stone’s and other liberals ideas of who Bush is.

I hope it bombs like other Stone films.

I don’t happen to believe that our freedom hinges on the ability of a man like Oliver Stone to lie his ass off presenting a completely falsified history to our youth. Perhaps you do.

If he wants to acknowledge up front that nothing contained in his movie is true, I’ve got no problem with him saying whatevery he likes.

His movie about the Kennedy assasination was fabricated in a number of ways. Those going to see it were the kids between sixteen and twenty-five who had no idea what he put on the screen wasn’t factual.

from just reading the article on the movie, I think this film may actually help bush...

People will come away, saying "wow, this guy has similar family problems that I do. I can kind of relate to that"

Garrison was still alive - he had a small role in JFK as Earl Warren

The vileness of the leftists/Marxists/Communists/Stalinists/Islamofascists loving Stone and his cohorts in the media will never stop against President Bush who had the audacity to fight back against Algore’s attempted theft of the 2000 election and to fight back after we were attacked on 911, and to fight back and win in the 2004 election.....and to somehow do all this without losing his cool and lashing out at those who will never cease to deride, degrade, and destroy him (and all who support the same things he has stood for).

My problem is not with the loathesome Stone - but with the thousands if not millions of non-thinking minds of mush out there who will lap this garbage up .....especially in the EuroIslamic world.

As usual - will just continue to pray for President Bush daily and to thank him for the good things he has done and for being a bulwark against the destroyers in the ways he has been. And nothing Stoneyboy can say will obliterate the unchallenged FACT that President Bush restored honor and dignity to the White House, to our Presidency after its total trashing under the horrendous Clintonista regime!

So government censorship is OK?

Should appointed commissars deem what is ‘true’ and what is ‘fiction’ and label it appropriately.

Our Republic will survive far worse than Oliver Stoned selling propaganda movies to credulous teen agers. It would not survive the attempt to stop him. Freedom of speech is even for those you disagree with and you know are lying.
