1. Saying McCain isn’t really a war hero because (insert stupid lie here.)

He got shot down. He was a POW. I could never fly a jet and bail... I could barely jump out of a perfectly good airplane a couple of dozen times without my knees creaking and my back hurting..... I couldn't imagine doing it at a couple of hundred miles per hour. ........ but that doesn't make you a President.

Your history as a legislature shows what kind of EXECUTIVE leader in our republic you might make.

He's been involved in some shady stuff with the Keating scandal. He's voted for limiting free speech in campaign advertising.

He's stated that "Global Warming" needs to be a priority in his term of office.

He's tried to cram through legislation to legalize the masses of future democrat party nipple people.

He's used the "tax cuts for the rich" mantra, which indicates he thinks the money in the country is "the government's" and not the citizen's.

2. Declaring that McCain urged the U.S. government to leave other POWs back in Vietnam (for what reason would he do this exactly? Don’t bother, I don’t want to hear your lies anymore.)

I don't know anything about the POW's. I'm sure that he'd do everything in his power to bring them back. He was a POW and has a unique perspective of the living hell it must have been

3. Insulting other FR posters who like or support Johnny by using profanity, vulgarity, and name calling. YOU ARE DIMINISHING FR with your hostile posts—this kind of stuff belongs on low rent leftie sites like DU, or Daily Kos, not FREE REPUBLIC, the shining star of conservative websites.

I'm not insulting you. I even think that you're right. McCain is going to be the next president. Just without my vote. I'll do what I can to get conservatives elected to legislative branches of government so they can block McCain's liberal initiatives.

AND FINALLY, the filthiest load in the McCain Haters’ verbal trebuchet: wishing, hoping or praying that John Sidney McCain III would come to some misfortune which would prevent him from living to be President. THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST DISGUSTING. How can you wish that a decent, G-d fearing man who suffered and sacrificed out of love for this country, who, BY THE GRACE OF G-D, survived five years of torture and imprisonment only to return to service in the military—how could you wish him anything but a long, long life? Shameful. And don’t DARE try to suggest that you are any better in moral character or principle than the angry liberal scum who wish ill upon President Bush or our troops. If your definition of “conservative” is to rage daily and most repulsively against our next President, then please call me a “right wing Reaganite traditionalist” because I want no part of your scene. Completely agree, but you are wasting your time. The ‘principled conservatives’ don’t appear to have any problems whatsoever enabling either one of the Marxists on the dem side to win the White House because they feel that doing so will somehow magically help conservatism. Nevermind that this will mean dem control of the White House and Congress and that the damage that they WILL do to the country will be irreparable. Nevermind that we are in a war for our national survival and that the Marxist nominees have made it abundantly clear that they WILL surrender the first chance they get. He may have used that language but he wasn't wrong by opposing revenue cuts without the expense reductions. El Jefe Jorge and the rest of the pubs layered on a few more trillion in debt for us. Even holding the line on spending would have gotten us back in the black.

We won't talk about the administration's screwing the pooch in Iraq from late in 2003 onward that not only cost us extra soldiers and marines lives but allowed the dems to make a huge comeback in 2006. McCain was actually in favor of more troops on the ground long before Bush took his head out of his ass.

I don't like McCain but too many people are willing to put democrats in the WH after having handed them the Senate and House in the 2006 election. He may not be a stellar conservative but he's going to be better than Hillary/Obama. I don't want either of those two asshats in the Oval Office in the nex4 4 years when we need to tie down Iraq then deal with Syria and Iran.

No, he doesn’t just have a “good war record”.

He and his fellow prisoners UPHELD the HONOR of America and of EVERYONE in it - including progenitors and descendants.

And, yes, including even the anonymous keyboard warriors on this site and other sites whose anonymity and technological toys enable them to casually slander good people, many of whose lives have gone to making possible the liberty of these very unfortunates.

By all means, criticize McCain’s policies, his governmental record. But do it dispassionately and accurately. Else be seen as nothing more than a coward. McCain’s sins are better known to him than to us; and all of us - everyone - will be similarly sorted out not far down the line.

This is not a "day in the life" or a "pray for Bush" thread, it's a challenge to anyone who disagrees with McCain and his supporters. I'll vote for McCain but I will defend the right of anyone to criticize him.
