What I am is rational. There are three people who have any chance of being inaugurated as President next January, and only one of them is remotely qualified for the job. In that situation, it’s not about politics, ideology or feelings anymore. It’s like having a choice between FDR, Goofy and Daffy Duck. Easy pick.

We will always have a choice between liberals and idiots as long as we continue to support candidates like McCain. Yes, we had better choices, but for some reason the Republican voters went for McCain. Well, the Republicans can slit their own throats if they want, but they will have to do it without me. It is not that I am so righteous, it is just that I can’t stand compromising my beliefs any longer. Either a person stands for something or he/she doesn’t. In other words, I am not going to do anymore whoring for the GOP.

Needs to be repeated. There are some folks here who have legitimate gripes against McCain; there are a LOT of trolls left over from 2006 (many of whom derailed Thompson before he even had a chance to get started). JM ain't perfect, but he's not a Professional Socialist, as both Hillary! and Obama demonstrably are.

If we elect McCain, and A REPUBLICAN CONGRESS THAT WILL KEEP AN EYE ON HIM, then we are infinitely better off than we would be with either Dem in the White House.

Just look at what the "all or nothing" idiots (aided and abetted by the agitating trolls) got us in 2006. That is all the evidence any clear-thinking person needs.

Yeah, but if we follow your logic we are likely to end up stuck with this sort of a Hobsons choice every election. Because if we elect McCain then the liberal wing of the party will know that they were right all along and we will vote for any liberal Republican provided the democrat he is running against is even more liberal.
