Completely agree, but you are wasting your time. The ‘principled conservatives’ don’t appear to have any problems whatsoever enabling either one of the Marxists on the dem side to win the White House because they feel that doing so will somehow magically help conservatism. Nevermind that this will mean dem control of the White House and Congress and that the damage that they WILL do to the country will be irreparable. Nevermind that we are in a war for our national survival and that the Marxist nominees have made it abundantly clear that they WILL surrender the first chance they get. Nevermind that the only realistic alternative to McCain is another corrupt, embarrassing, and criminal Clinton administration, or an administration of a racist, completely inexperienced, religion of peace apologist who is ashamed of this country.
Save your breath because sujecting the country to this crap is apparently the ‘principled’ thing to do to some people.

You may well be right about that, if McCain loses. However, some people DO feel that if we sit out this election, then the RINO/President Bush/Ken Mehlman GOP will be so distraught that they’ll return to the principles of old, as happened under Clinton.

Others feel, as do I, that if John McCain wins he will push his censorship of groups like the NRA and Right to Life to its next logical conclusion...hate speech crimes like Canada has, where people are fined, thrown in jail or charged with crimes for expressing disagreement with homosexuals or Muslims.

They also feel that McCain’s censorship of groups critical to politicians will extend to the internet, and we’ll see forums like Freep shut down, fined or regulated for allowing people to voice dissaproval of politicians 60 days before an election.

They feel that if McCain is in charge when that censorship, such as we see in Canada, the UK and other countries throughout the world, that when it comes through a GOP president, no one in Congress in the GOP will fight it, whereas with Clinton/Obama the GOP would fight it tooth and nail, as it did not come from a sitting GOP president.

Regardless of why these folks are not voting for McCain, whether his loss will shake up the GOP or whether we will suffer less suppression of free speech under a president hostile to the GOP, (as the GOP will feel free to fight that suppression,) regardless of why others are not voting for McCain, I’ll tell you why I am not voting for him.

I simply cannot, and will not, ever vote for someone who wants to suppress free speech, for someone that wants to censor groups like the NRA and Right to Life so they cannot run ads supporting or opposing politicians during an election.

That, to me, is the most repugnant thing a politician can do...censor groups that want to exercise their 1st Amendment rights under the constitution, like McCain has done, and will continue to do as president.

I would rather see this nation completely fall apart than voluntarily vote for someone who wants to suspend or abrogate the constitution of the United States.

if that’s truly the only candidate we can muster up, one who takes away the NRA’s right to criticize him during elections, then God help us all.

To me...that’s a sign that we’re already basically gone as a free country, and to vote for such a man is simply a vote from me to him to destroy our constitution.

Ed

Even if that were NOT the case, though,
