Prayer request: My Sister-in-law, Barbara Robinson has passed away

My sister-in-law, Barbara Robinson, passed away on Saturday. She had been suffering from cancer for several months. She had underwent radiation therapy and they thought it was gone, but it came back a couple months later and caused much pain and suffering before it took her life. She was a devoted wife, mother and dear friend. My brother, Don Robinson, is heartbroken and feeling lost. They had been sweethearts since they first met as teenagers. They had been married for over forty years. He and his family are in need of prayer.

Barbara also leaves her surviving children, Jeanette Draper and Jackie Harris and grandson Eric Robinson. Her son Don Jr. preceded her in death. She also leaves her loving father Lawrence Baker and brothers Mike, David and Timothy and sister Kathy. The Robinson and Baker families have been very close these last forty plus years. We’ve traveled and camped together from one end of California to the other. Barbara was like a mother to us all. She cared for us and looked out for us. She was always there when anyone needed her. She especially looked out for me and Sheila after she had her stroke. She came over three times a week to help Sheila bathe and dress, cleaned our house and fixed our lunch. And, as I was working at my desk, she made sure my cup or glass was never empty. She was a great and loving friend to us all. We will remember her always.

God bless.

Prayers sent. Praise the Lord, Barbara's suffering is ended, but I grieve for Don. My hubby and I have been sweethearts since I was 14. We will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary this August. Both of us wish to go first as we can't imagine being alone. Special prayers for Don in his sorrow.

Father, we lift to you these prayer requests; That you give comfort and strength to all the family affected by the passing of this dear loved lady.

We pray that you would bless this family, give them the strength that they need to recover from their grief, give them the comfort of knowing that this lady has now passed on to a better place than she was, let them give thanks that she is no longer in pain but is now rejoicing in your glorious presence.

We pray that they would know that her soul is no longer bound to the earthly body that caused her such pain but is now in the love that transcends all things, including death.

Give them strength, Father, give them comfort, make them secure in the knowledge that she still loves them and that you love them all.

In the name of your son, Jesus Christ,
Amen

Jim, please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your dear sister in law and friend. She, your brother and your family will be included in my prayers. I pray God gives your brother strength. And I hope good memories and keeping his wife’s spirit close, will, in time, give him some comfort. God bless all of you.

PRAYERS LIFTED FOR COMFORT!

I may say to those of you also who have been bereaved—if you believe in providence you may grieve; but your grief must not be excessive. I remember at a funeral of a friend hearing a pretty parable which I have told before, and will tell again. There was much weeping on account of the loss of a loved one, and the minister put it thus. He said, “Suppose you are a gardener employed by another; it is not your garden, but you are called upon to tend it, and you have your wages paid you. You have taken great care with a certain number of roses; you have trained them up, and there they are, blooming in their beauty. You pride yourself upon them. You come one morning into the garden, and you find that the best rose has been taken away. You are angry: you go to your fellow-servants, and charge them with having taken the rose. They will declare that they had nothing at all to do with it; and one says, “I saw the master walking here this morning; I think he took it.” Is the gardener angry then? No, at once he says, “I am happy that my rose should have been so fair as to attract the attention of the master. It is his own: he hath taken it; let him do what seemeth him good.”
