You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

If you want to see just how much better races relations have improved, eliminate welfare and welfare-related entitlement spending. Then, sit back and feel the love.

And then Obama blew it.<
To me, that says it all.

"The wounds of racial hatred have, over the past 20 years or so, been healing." Can't prove this to me from what I've been seeing around here for the past several years. If anything there is more tension and consciousness of Race as the Race Baiters have been left to run amok. I think we're going backwards in very many ways.

He wanted to be the first African-American to run for the presidency keeping the issue of race as far into the background as possible.
Didn't Allan Keys run for President? Actually, I liked him...I thought he was a very conservative individual.

And then along came Johnny Cochran and OJ Simpson - to stoke the fires once again and off we went! That was a big set back and we’ll probably never get where we were before that.

Obama not as black as he claims he is. White mother, father roughly 95% Arab, 5% black. Now who do you think he is playing to?

“Some even thought of him as the second coming of Jesus Christ.”
Talk about Obama as the second coming of Christ! I think that is exactly the imagery his campaign is attempting to convey. Check out the picture of Obama floating in the clouds on the Obama website: http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

"His good looks and charismatic appeal made many people view him as the next JFK."I probably became a confirmed Republican while observing the Democrats' fawning adulation of John Kennedy. Kennedy was a mediocre man and a mediocre President. I think he had some charisma, but, for the most part, it was lost on me. I never thought he was particularly good looking and concluded that charisma must have elevated his personal appearance and his general mediocrity in the minds of those affected by his charisma.
Time has been kind to Kennedy in my opinion. He was certainly a better President than the Democrats who followed him.
Jackie Kennedy was intelligent and well educated, and she had a good sense of humor (as did her husband)--all charming qualities--but she also had qualities that were not admirable.
All in all, I see nothing in particular to admire about the Kennedys.
This is one of the worst criticisms of Democrats: They have bad judgment. They are shallow. They consistently mistake mediocrity for greatness. The Democrat Party is a magnet for self-serving and sociopathic leaders and ill-informed, unintelligent followers who are poor judges of character--or anything else. They tend to value intentions over results. By the uncontradicted admission of their operatives, they place no value on character, morality, or truth. And they obviously consider the objective to be justification for any means taken.
I am certainly not unaware of the deficiencies of the Republican Party, but Republicans tower over Democrats in everything of value.

Even those of us who are conservative, and who despise the misguided vision of the left had to admit that here was a man who broke through the walls that have kept our nation disunited for some 200-plus years.
Give me a break. No, it was just that Obama didn't appear, at first, to be a racist hate-monger. This is why Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton never had a chance in a presidential campaign; they obviously were racist misery pimps. Now Obama has revealed himself to be merely a closet racist with a big smile. And even worse, not a racist who, unthinkingly, was the product of a racist environment but one who had, with calculation, adopted that viewpoint in order to give himself believability among racist blacks in Chicago, thinking that they represented the opinions of U.S. blacks at large. He is a Clinton triangulationist in hyperdrive who uses and abuses the attitudes and prejudices of everyone with impugnity for advancing his own agenda.
