"His good looks and charismatic appeal made many people view him as the next JFK."

I probably became a confirmed Republican while observing the Democrats' fawning adulation of John Kennedy. Kennedy was a mediocre man and a mediocre President. I think he had some charisma, but, for the most part, it was lost on me. I never thought he was particularly good looking and concluded that charisma must have elevated his personal appearance and his general mediocrity in the minds of those affected by his charisma.

Time has been kind to Kennedy in my opinion. He was certainly a better President than the Democrats who followed him.

Jackie Kennedy was intelligent and well educated, and she had a good sense of humor (as did her husband)--all charming qualities--but she also had qualities that were not admirable.

All in all, I see nothing in particular to admire about the Kennedys.

This is one of the worst criticisms of Democrats: They have bad judgment. They are shallow. They consistently mistake mediocrity for greatness. The Democrat Party is a magnet for self-serving and sociopathic leaders and ill-informed, unintelligent followers who are poor judges of character--or anything else. They tend to value intentions over results. By the uncontradicted admission of their operatives, they place no value on character, morality, or truth. And they obviously consider the objective to be justification for any means taken.

I am certainly not unaware of the deficiencies of the Republican Party, but Republicans tower over Democrats in everything of value.

“They consistently mistake mediocrity for greatness.”

In some cases they mistake far less than mediocrity for greatness. Slick Willie made me long for a potus who could rise to the level of mediocrity.

Have you ever heard of “The Blind leading the Blind?”
Matt 15:14

(That is not a “knock” against the Blind.)

Your post sounds like that scripture. :)
