"I'm sure," said Barack Obama in that sonorous baritone that makes his drive-thru order for a Big Mac, fries and strawberry shake sound profound, "many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed." Well, yes. But not many of us have heard remarks from our pastors, priests or rabbis that are stark, staring, out-of-his-tree, flown-the-coop nuts. ...snip...
It is Barack Obama's choice to entrust his daughters to the spiritual care of such a man for their entire lives, but in Philadelphia the senator attempted to universalize his peculiar judgment to claim that, given America's history, it would be unreasonable to expect black men of Jeremiah Wright's generation not to peddle hateful and damaging lunacies. Isn't that what's the word? racist? So much for the post-racial candidate.

Obama will have more delegates than Clinton but she will get the superdelegates and be the nominee.
He is toast.
Although I abhor his politics, I too was deeply disappointed to discover that, rather than being the post-racial candidate, Obama on this point was the same old crapola, even down to pulling out the list of handouts to be demanded and trumpeting that “everybody else” needs to do more in the face of one community’s institutionalized lack of personal responsibility.
What the Rats have wrought with their gleeful facilitation of extreme identity politics over the years has come back to bite them on the butt.
They have no good way out of this mess now.
And, once again, they have harmed the nation as a whole and blacks in particular.
The way the media has circled its wagons around Obama/Wright is simply unbelievable. A year ago I would have said that the MSM would have been afraid to demonstate such open bias...but here it is.
There’s not even a pretense of objectivity in the mainstream press anymore, the big networks, the NYTs, WaPo, and CNN are carrying water for the Obama campaign.
This is a new low.
“...in that sonorous baritone that makes his drive-thru order for a Big Mac, fries and strawberry shake sound profound...”
I love it! Obama: The Fast Food Mentality Candidate. :)
Obama is done. And I’d be willing to bet so is Hillary. I wonder how the party is going to boot these two and for whom? There is very little doubt in my mind that that is EXACTLY what will happen in the fullness of time.
I hope you are right. There will be civil war in the Democrat party and Hillary will destroy herself politically. I wouldn’t be surprised if she not only loses the Presidential race, but eventually her Senate seat.
Thanks for posting this.
Ping for the Mark Steyn list?

Sorry, kjo, but this is the same-old same-old... The MSM has been this way for YEARS -- just this year it's gotten a bit more complicated. Between Billery and Obama it's like Solomon's baby all over again: and it looks like they're going to slice this baby in half. Maybe this will mark the start of the media taking a good hard look at itself and recognizing how over-the-top they've become.
To quote a recent newsmaker: "Mainstream Media: your chickens have come home to roost!"
This is the payback for the hundreds of thousand killed in the Civil War, deaths of the Abolitionists (John Brown's body etc.), the martyrs of Civil Rights struggle both black and white, the many Americans who lost life opportunities to Affirmative Action in the name of social peace. Americans have paid in blood and gold, and don't deserve such a payback.
It is time now to rethink the 40 year old policies of LBJ's Great Society. Maybe cutting people loose will help them find the strength to stand on their own feet and take pride in their own efforts.
Yes, the MSM is definitely feeling a thrill run up its collective leg. This is a mass hallucination which may work in our favor. Their Obama-love is totally unconditional and totally blind, as evidenced by their treatment of Wright as no big deal (so what if our nominee’s major influence is a deranged racist crackpot.) They are also totally out of touch with mainstream voters and if sanity ultimately prevails, they will be in deep shock upon hearing the election results in November.
So is Denver, Washington, DC, Chicago and Atlanta when he doesn't get the nomination.
What I heard in Obama’s speech was that we should not judge his good reverand by the content of his character but by the color of his skin. He turned MLK’s dream speech on its head; and yet, the media swoons over his delivery and ignores the content of his speeches.
The democrats have made this a race about race and are trying to blame the republicans on being racist. Steyn is absolutely correct — but then again, when is he not?
“... even down to pulling out the list of handouts to be demanded and trumpeting that everybody else needs to do more in the face of one communitys institutionalized lack of personal responsibility.”
Very well said.

There’s been a lot written on this subject, but Steyn hits the home run.
This article should be required reading in every high school, college and university in America.
