Wow.
Roberts: "I'm not sure why we have to articulate these standards for the 2nd Amendment when the other rights don't have to endure such scrutiny. Why is the 2nd Amendment different?"

Clement. I can’t believe that guy is appointed by a Republican. Bush has not done firearms owners any favors during his term.

“The Chief asks whether the Court even needs to articulate a standard for interpretation.”

Me thinks the machine gun ban is going to take a hit with this case. Gotta wonder what Mike Sullivan thinks. Hope he’s crying his eyes out.

Me thinks the machine gun ban is going to take a hit with this case. I'm thinking the same thing. Every time Clement brings up machine guns it ends up being in favor of us.

Between DC and Clements this is coming down to NFA and 1968 GCA issues. They are deflecting.

I was just thinking about all of section 922 myself. Even Clement is saying they’re arms, but he says that they’d welcome the court’s view that they’re not ‘arms’ because they’d vigorously defend Congress’ right to legislate and control them.

I am SO happy that you posted this.
I am excited about what we are hearing. This is historic. I am privileged to live in this country.
May God's will be done in these proceedings.

Breyer just posed a very interesting question. He’s playing devil’s advocate now.

Gura is pointing out the defects of the ban, not dancing around like Clemet and the DC lawyer did earlier.
I expect a LOT of grilling by the anti-gun justices.

The “purpose” of the right is to limit a government that is out of control.

I figured when Gura got up several of the justices would play Devil’s Advocate. That’s expected I think.

That’s my opinion... not a quote from the proceedings... sorry if I caused any confusion.

Agreed. And Gura is holding his own in responding. Very nicely done.
