Larry Suffredin and his cohorts on the Cook County Board are up to their old tricks again.
In order to justify passage of gun control ordinances designed to close all gun shops and ban and confiscate most guns owned by citizens of the county, the Cook County Board is conducting a telephone poll where callers can vote for or against the gun control ordinances.
Like everything else in Cook County, this poll is probably rigged. So, it’s very important that you do the following:
1. Call 1-312 -603-6400 and select Option #1 when prompted. At the next prompt, select Option #1 again. Then, when prompted to vote on the gun control ordinance, press #2. Update: Listen to the prompts for changes.
2. You should also forward this alert on to all your gun owning friends and have them vote too.
3. You should also post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards or blogs to which you belong.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT OF COOK COUNTY TO VOTE!
Let’s beat Suffredin at his own game! And, save your guns.

I called in. Option 2 is still a vote against the gun control measure.
I live in NM and it took my vote. There didn’t seem to be any control on the number so I called a second time and it went right through and let me vote again.
You got my NO vote!
I got through from NJ with two NO votes. Any of us have Vonage or Skype with essentially free calls? Let’s flood them with NO votes.
I don't live in IL myself, but I guess I just have a special grudge against IL's unconstitutional gun laws. That comes from the seven years when my son and his family lived in MO, and my wife and I often drove through IL when we went to visit them. I aways carry a pistol when I travel by car whether it's legal or not to do so where I intend to drive. When going through IL I was always on pins and needles because I was afraid I would be stopped for some minor traffic violation or maybe be involved in a traffic accident, and the trooper or cop might ask to search my car. If I had refused, which I would have, he/she could have gotten a warrant and found my gun, and I would have been heavily fined or something worse such as jail time or community service in a state where I don't live, and I'm sure that my favorite, 100% reliable, 60 year old 1911 .45acp would also have been confiscated in that kind of situation and that would have been the unkindest cut of all.

Mmm, that makes me wonder if this vote deal is above board and will be taken seriously by Cook County officials, or if it's just a rigged scam to "prove" that IL's people really want more strict gun laws. Whatever, I believe that it's still important to vote, because even those crooked scabs on the people of IL's butts are sensitive to the will of the voters, and they will know the real vote count whether the rest of IL's people do or not.

I think it’s pretty stupid that they can hold you while waiting for a warrant, just to search your car. They get to search it with or without your consent, which is stupid.

I have never heard of a cop asking a judge for a warrant to search a car and being turned down. It probably happens now and then but I haven't heard of it. If the car belongs to an official or a local rich family a warrant request would probably be turned down, but not if it's just us ordinary working folks who keep the nation running and protected from our enemies.
Suffering severe case of cabin fever ... can hardly wait for spring to arrive.
You probably know that the richest class in Mexico are the wealthiest people in Latin America, and they only pay an average of 15% of their net income in taxes. They don't want to pay taxes to support their poor when their government, which they own lock, stock, and barrel, can help their poor get across the border so we can support them with cheap labor jobs, free medical care, and schooling for their kids.
Great system huh? For the rich Mexicans that is.
