I think it’s pretty stupid that they can hold you while waiting for a warrant, just to search your car. They get to search it with or without your consent, which is stupid.
I have never heard of a cop asking a judge for a warrant to search a car and being turned down. It probably happens now and then but I haven't heard of it. If the car belongs to an official or a local rich family a warrant request would probably be turned down, but not if it's just us ordinary working folks who keep the nation running and protected from our enemies.
