Obama Camp Spitting Mad about Fox News Interview
Ace of Spades ^ | March 17, 2008 | Staff

Posted on 03/17/2008 11:48:44 AM PDT by jdm

Obama's Friday interview by Major Garrett, in which he describes his membership at Trinity United and his connection to Rev. Wright, has been called one of his worst ever. At the time, people were wondering what he could have been thinking, especially given the Democrats on-again-off-again boycott of Fox News.

Melanie Morgan says that as soon as it aired Garrett got an earful:

As I was waiting to go on-the-air, Major Garrett of Fox News was on stand-by to do further reporting on his excellent interview with BHO in which he simply asked a number of questions like: "Did Reverend Wright marry you? Did Reverend Wright baptize your children? How often did you attend church? Did you donate money to the church?"

After that segment aired, Major Garrett's phone started buzzing. He received a call from Obama's campaign, and they were REAMING him over the report. From his end, I heard Garrett say "I have nothing to apologize for."

He repeated that several times, and he amplified by saying that he was merely asking questions that everyone wanted answers to.

That did NOT satisfy Obama's people, and Garrett flushed a couple of times while responding to the invective thrown his way.

Strategically, *I'm not sure why Obama would choose to go only to Fox News with this story, especially because I don't think that anyone ever believed this one would be confined to "conservative" media. So far it looks like every decision he's made about Wright has only made him look worse. Obama himself admits that "my judgment at the time [that he asked Wright to join his campaign] was that this was not as problematic as what I've seen over the last couple of days.

Genius.

Transcript of the interview is here. YouTube video is below the fold.

With any luck the Democrats will have to find a third compromise candidate. That will really help their credibility.

No one in Illinois may care about your church affiliations but your in the big time now Hussein....the nation is not going to accept your lame “I wasn’t in church that day” crappola. I am insulted by your lack of respect for my intelligence concerning your comments on your flamethrower racist preacher. In no way are you qualified to sit in my white house because you are lying to us!

I just read the interview and it is a straightforward questioning of the facts. Hillary has been questioned at least as tough by Russert and others.

The reason Obama looked so bad is that he doesn't have good answers. Fact is he wasn't properly vetted and this wasn't picked up.

I don't believe for a minute he didn't know about these views. In a large church people pick the minister they feel closest to for important events like marriages and baptisms. He may not have been in the pews for some specific sermon, but I don't believe any of this is new to Obama. He loses credibility by saying so.

“However, among African-Americans, 29% said Wright’s comments made them more likely to support Obama. Just 18% said the opposite while 50% said Wright’s comments would have no impact.”

Obama's supporters = the O.J. Jury all over again.

The difference is that, unlike OJ trial, now the public gets to vote as well.

They should all be ignored by Faux News. “Fair and balanced” is a figment of their imagination designed to lure unthinking people into believing that Faux News is “conservative.”

Last week I canceled my 180 channel satellite package and went down to the 45 channel basic package to save a few coins each month now that my retirement income dollars are shrinking faster than a $5 cotton shirt. One of the channels in the package that I canceled was Fox News.

My wife asked me if I wasn't going to miss Fox, and after thinking it over for a about one nanosecond I said no, not at all. I had just then realized that I seldom watch Fox anymore for any longer than it takes for it to cut from a LA freeway car chase and go to one of it's model agency supplied reporterettes after she finishes scraping enough makeup off her lacquered face to read a minute or two of "news" before the next five minute commercial break comes on accompanied by a blast of extremely irritating, ear-splitting, drum thumping, nerve jangling, electronically synthesized noise disguised as "music".

When you add to that the Fox staff of supposedly conservative news readers typified by the male version of Katy Couric disguised as Shepard Smith who mangle any sensational tabloid style news reports that come in and usually involve either rock stars with Mohawk hair styles and Satanic tattoos, or half nekkid Hollywood celebrities and their hangers on and then give their obviously uninformed opinion on that so-called news, you begin to realize that Fox News just aint what it's cracked up to be.

Of course I'm referring to the daytime version of Fox, and when you come to the evening edition shows which are best represented by Brit Hume's hour, which is seldom blessed with his presence BTW, it becomes somewhat more tolerable. But since I haven't shown any signs of withdrawal tremors, or suffered any relapses into fantasizing about Shepard Smith strapped on a medieval torture rack and surrounded by grinning, bent over old men with red hot iron pokers clutched in their bony hnds, I don't think I will regret losing Fox News too awfully much until the upcoming recession is done with recessing. And anyway, I may go back to the 180 channel package after the recession has played itself out if I have any more inflated dollars left in my forlorn bank account. But if I could swap off Fox News channel for a film channel featuring anything slightly more entertaining than an endless series of reruns of black and white depression-era Bowery Boys films I would jump at the chance.

Hildebeast will be easier to beat. With Obama out, the black voters will turn their wrath on Hildebeast and refuse to vote for her. 80% of them will stay home in protest.

So, who does she have left? Old white ladies, brain-dead Hollywood types, and Bob Beckel. Oh, and maybe Alan Colmes.

It will be a great victory for Mccain.

He's mad because they had this in the bag and either way the dems lose big in the fall if this keeps going (which it will).

I'm not so sure about that, I wish I was but I'm just not. The Dems are the real pros at this game, but our side is all thumbs and a mile wide and it's a long time until November. The not-so-Reverend Wright tempest in a teapot will be long forgotten by election day, and for months on end the Democrat slime machine will have been dumping rancid doo-doo all over McNasty like a septic tank pumper truck unloading on a flat rock.

I have come to the sad conclusion, helped along by septuagenarian McNasty's RINO status and his apparently incurable ineptness at the campaign game, that this just isn't the right election year for the GOP's team of bungling political hacks to turn a sow's ear into an Oval Office grade silk purse.

You want a bottle of white guilt?

I don't think it's white guilt that causes those white babes to swoon like they had just downed a pint of Wild Turkey neat. I have an idea it's something more like a female glandular system run amok.

Obama was ill prepared and for the first couple minutes just kept answering “yes” to Garrett’s string of questions. Then Obama’s explanations were weak.

Just another example of how scripted he is. Take him out of his element and this is what you get. If Major Garrett threw him off his game that badly, think how prepared he'd be in discussions with world leaders.

With Obama out, the black voters will turn their wrath on Hildebeast and refuse to vote for her. 80% of them will stay home in protest.

The old pros huddled in the Democrat's backstage rooms won't let that happen. They see the handwriting on the wall for Hillary, she can't win 270 electoral college votes without practically all the Afro-American vote, and the party's multi-billionaire financial backers and rabidly liberal ideologues aren't about to let this election slip through their fingers by a whisker like the 2000 election did. IOW, Hillary is toast and has been since Sheik Hussein Obama unexpectedly surged ahead of her in the delegate count mainly on strength of the record high Afro-American turnout in the south.

You can bet your booty that the donkey party slime machine's throttle knob will be pulled almost out of the firewall from the Denver convention until November. And with the eager help of it's well experienced accomplices in the drive-by media, Sheik Obama's foot-in-mouth pastor will be swept under the rug and out of sight as though he never existed and Sheik Hussein Obama will be pictured in the media being as clean and high-minded as if he were Sir Galahad searching for the Holy Grail. I hate being the thrower of so much cold water, but IMHO it's better to face the devil lurking under the bed now than later.
