What do you think? Suggestions, comments, complaints?
Gonna take a little getting used to, but I’ll get there in the end.
One suggestion, though. I prefer the “comments” view on the forum page, but hitting the “forum” button at top right to refresh the page resets the tab to “articles”. It’d be great if I didn’t have to reset my preferences each time I refresh the page. Browsing with Firefox, if that makes a difference. Thanks for all you do!
I’ve been here for years and I still never understood why on certain pages on the top bar it would say “PINGS” and other times it would change to “COMMENTS” and when you click on it with either it was the same list whether you posted it or someone was posting it to you. Was this an oversight that only I noticed?
All the text on the right side is very small and hard to read. It's harder to click the link to pings and mail.
IMO the only change you made that is an improvement is the “Post” button next to each forum in on the right. Don't know what the topic key would be used for.
If I click on a topic, I can only get the message view? I prefer the comments view.
I also miss the “spelling ok” sign when spell checking.
You're previous design was a classic work of art. The only update that needed change was the bizarre code you would get after you spell checked a word with a ‘ in it a few times.
Second that.
Excellent, John! I was a bit concerned during the evolution, but this looks GREAT.
Heck! I’ve lost the ‘search’ box. I’ll have to read through and see where it is now!!
And the heads-up to the change was posted?.....on a day I did not login?
I'm old enough to say, "put it back to the way it was!"
Ya, I know. I'll get over it! :)
It used to show me what news articles I have already looked at. They would be highlighted. Now I don’t know.
I like it, clean, sharp and modern./Just Asking - seoul62......
The RSS link opens up for me to a pretty page, very professional looking, and I've tried it on IE, Opera and Firefox. It's cool.
I clicked on the "put on sidebar" link and it opened right up to a neat looking organizing page.
What browser are you using?
Any chance you could stick an RSS icon on the right side of the URL title. If I understand this stuff (not sure I do), then this is explained at http://www.mnot.net/rss/tutorial/#Telling:
Additionally, some programs look for a link in the <head> section of your HTML. To support this, include a <link> tag;
<head> <title>My Page</title> <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="feed.rss" title="RSS feed for My Page"> </head>These links should be placed on the Web page that is most similar to the feed content; this enables people to find them as they browse.
The new look is very nice.
There’s no shiny red button that I should never, ever touch, what gives? Otherwise It’s fine. It’s never a bad idea to add more shiny buttons though =D
That's awesome! I hadn't noticed that one, yet. It's almost like finding Easter eggs, or opening Christmas presents.
Thanks!
