AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, and Doctor of Democracy. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).
I just did google images..’funny cat pictures’!
If Hillary's new pal, Rush, had given as much enthusiastic energy for Romney, Thompson, Duncun Hunter, we'd not be stuck with McCain.
But no, he thinks he was being professional by staying out of the republican contest. Instead, he finds great pleasure, and devilish ribald entertainment in inserting himself into the democrat fray.
Yeah, Rush be careful what you wish for. That's how the vicious beast Hillary shows gratitude. You've lost a girlfriend...Lyn, as well as my loyal listening mother, several friends, and me, although, I can HOPE your Shakedown/Takedown Strategy, as ill thought and irresponsible as I see it, will end in the manner you are assuring it will.
Yes, we can, all HOPE. But, what will your strategy and what excuse will you come up with, be if the crooked swindler Clintons get a third term, you can't blame it entirely on McCain, you promoted her and we will be stuck with her while you go off in your foot loose and fancyfree jetting off to go golfing and cigaring.
Thanks a lot, El Rushbo.
And, furthermore, you didn't say ""Don't Doubt Me".
I'm so mad at you. EEUUUU! Supporting her. I wonder what is in his cigar.
“Sorry, you cant shoot that far with such tiny.”
lol, beg me
I’m a guy I guess you are ____ ? Begins with a g
But . . .
One things these wins do is allow Hildy the luxury of grabbing the nomination in private (in the smokey back room).
They give her enough cover to keep going publicly, all the while she will be pounding on the party hacks and superdelegates to the fact that she is the only candidate who can win the big states and that they need her for that purpose.
Even if that doesn’t result in the nomination, and it probably won’t, the deal will be that Obama will be forced (by the superdelegates who still control the ultimate ticket) to accept Hildy as his VP. He will do so. She will do so if she can’t otherwise get the nomination.
I know many think she is too egotistical to take second spot, but that’s the point. She’s too egotistical to turn down the chance, at her age, to become the first female VP, blah blah blah . . . and she knows she and Bubba can sort out Obama once they get in the White House.
Once Obama puts her on the ticket and talks nice, his supporters will go along and “forgive” too-—honest policy differences, what’s good for the country and all that.
Bottom line: BECAUSE Hildy won TX and OH, and because the overall race is quite close in terms of pop votes, she now can do all her ugly maneuvers behind closed doors, while showing the Rats what a “fighter” and “comeback kid” she is in public.
You requested the service. Embrace your h tendencies...but your not for me.
Youre right. Even Rove said it last night on Fox- that McCain will now become old news now that the nomination is wrapped up and start to fade away- but Hillary and Obama will be in the news 24/7 now. If they dont eat each other alive (IMHO I dont think they will) they will get their message out to more people using the media. They will also just keep raking in the money for their campaigns, while McCain is already having some cash issues. I think they already know that they will be running together- and McCain and his team better be prepared. Its going to be rough road ahead!
Bears repeating.
I don't see any upside to this stunt at all.
I’m with you on that.
Oh yeah, no problems here. Most of the problems seem to be closer to downtown, and out east.
It actually is pretty good out there now.
“McCain is already having some cash issues.”
Another little cog in Rush’s strategy. The entire “make them spend money line is for nada. They are bringing in 85 and 55 million each per month and McCain is bringing in about 12 I believe...They will just reload from their activated base.
You folks are nuts. She netted a mere 12 delegates last night against his lead. 12. Rush is right, let these two continue to burn money and let Hillary damage Obama since McCain and the GOP have already said they won’t attack him cause they are spineless. Someone has to. Obama has a 9 stroke lead going into the fourth round on a Sunday.
Look at Drudgereport for instance - she is on life support:
Delegate Scorecard...
PENN FLASHBACK: ‘This election will come down to delegates’...
FOURNIER: Clinton now has little chance of closing the gap...
NYT: ‘Simple math is still her enemy’...
Now What?
Tempers Flare...
12 Contests, 611 Delegates: Obama Needs 77%, Clinton Needs 97% of Remaining Pledged Delegates...
Pelosi: Voters will decide nominee, not party leaders at the convention...
Man, I hate it when that happens.
You are correct.
As I've said, I see no upside whatsoever to this stunt.
Someone else posted that Rove last night said much the same. That for the next weeks and months McCain will be old news, while the Rats continue their pattycake and rev up their base. Then if, as I predict, they BOTH end up on the ticket, they join two very strong constituencies.
It's not good.
I, and many other freepers, lost alot of respect for Thune when he decided to use John Bolton as a human shield and made no bones about the fact he was willing to slit the throat of a fellow conservative if he didn't get his pork on some totally unrelated bill. Imagine if the situation had been reversed and Bolton had said "Sorry Senator, but if Congress doesn't give me the pork I want for the state department, I'll support the Democrat candidate in SD. It's nothing personal against you, I just need to blackmail people to get my pork here."
Totally beyond the pale. The thing is, Thune would not have won that seat if he had only the resources of South Dakota Republicans, he owes it to Republicans around the nation to thank for their selfless efforts in providing money and volunteers from out-of-state to put him over the top.
Thune has a pretty solid conservative voting record, so he fits one of those categories of people that make acceptable Senators, but whose "leadership" skills should rule them out for any kind of promotion to leader of the free world. Thune has proven himself to be a McCainiac who went on record telling Republican candidates to "distance" themselves from Bush on Iraq and made it perfectly clear he will knife fellow conservative nominees and conservative bills at a moment's notice if he needs to get attention about his pork.
I find it amazing that freepers are more "outraged" about the Gang of 14 "betrayal" (which actually turned out to be not tha bad, as we got some great judges comfirmed from that), than "Republican" Senators like Thune and Chafee throwing Bolton to the dogs.
We don't need a right-wing version of Daschle a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
Add that to the fact Thune is from about the safest, non-descript GOP state you can find and it holds a mere 4 electoral votes, and this guy brings nothing to the ticket that any other conservative Republican Senator would also have.
McCain needs to cross off Thune's name on the veep list.
And don't get me started on Rice. The fact anyone on this board would still support her for veep after her tenure in the State Dept. is mind-boggling. The RAT party is for selecting candidates on the basis of affirmative action, NOT the GOP.
You have done nothing but call names.
There’s no need to get personal.
Especially if you actually have something substantive to say.
“She netted a mere 12 delegates last night against his lead. 12. Rush is right”
Ok. So, you think Rush should accept his share of the responsibility if Clinton is the next President?
...covered it somewhere between posts 1-300, knock yourelf out...then your friends resorted to name calling invective, which I responded to.
“Actually, you didn’t.”
Try a reading class then, it’s back there.
I think the supers force Hildy on Obama because, with these wins she got last night, she storms in to the smokey back room and starts screaming about how it’s clear only she can win the big states.
IOW, she uses Electoral College math on them to counter delegate math.
I agree with you.
I question the authority here.
Bush v. Gore was one thing, as it was the election of the President. But state prty primaries have no authority from the Constitution (unless its hiding in an emination from a penumbra). There is nothing in the Constitution about political parties, therefore people are free to run for president in any way they wish.
I don't see why one party's internal fight over how it chooses its nominee is a Constitutional matter. Even Bush v. Gore wasn't about political parties, it was about the conduct of federally-binding election by the pre-established rules.
I'd love to see the courts refuse to hear the case, and force the DNC to resolve its own problem internally.
