NEW YORK (CBS) ― Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama.
Speaking on the Early Show on CBS, Clinton said "that may be where this is headed, but we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket."
Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them.
Clinton's remarks after her campaign won two big states yesterday: Ohio and Texas. She also won Rhode Island. The wins enabled her campaign to break Obama's 12-state winning streak and pick up some momentum of its own.
Speaking later on the Early Show, Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the democratic nomination.
"We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.
I agree absolutely. In addition to the reasons you mentioned he'd end up playing 3rd fiddle because x-42 would be hogging the camera at every opportunity.
Plus there would be the eventual Clinton stench he'd have to worry about.
Being her VP would be a career killer.
Nor do I think she would be his VP but I doubt if it would even be offered.
I don’t think either one would play second fiddle to the other. Their gigantic egos wouldn’t allow it. Clinton wouldn’t be Vice president because it does her no good. Her popularity rating will never rise above the level it’s at now.
I dunno, that's a lot of evil on one ticket. You can throw a ton of mud at them and some of it will inevitably stick.
Here I was in my wool socks, long underwear, heavy sweater and winter coat, just happy to have the power back on so I could find out what new crisis is happening in the world...and you ruined my entire day. Shame on you.

Unfortunately, you're probably right.
For actual political analysts, this was a working hypothesis right from the ... well, from 6 months ago, since they've ALREADY been campaigning for three years. IF it happens, if their rivalry isn't just manufactured for public consumption in like pro wrestling and boxing rivalries, it won't be surprising at all. Though the MEDIA will bill it as a huge surprise for the brain dead couch potato voters.
First, it is not going to happen.
Hillary is not going to take the VP spot and Obama will be leading in pledge delegates when this comes to the end, so he will be the nominee.
There is a vast difference between the two in the the vision they have of how their adminstration would operate.
Second, it is far more likely that both would like to see the other lose in the election and take a crack at 2012 rather then wait for 2016!
Which for Hillary would be impossible!
Finally, such a ticket would unify the GOP against it and move conservative Democrats and Independents toward the GOP.
It is too radical a ticket for most Americans to accept.
This talk of a ticket is just the MSM dream of avoidng the reality of the divisions that are already beginning to show in the Democrat Party.
Divisons which are going to get McCain elected.
Whoever is on top, it would be the blind leading the blind. Hillary accepting the possibility of this co-ticket premise shows her position of weakness. I won’t get too concerned yet unless I hear Obama express the same willingness.
As for the democrat party, they’d jump at this chance... they only want to win the White House. Ability to run the country is a distant second on the list... as proven by their selection of candidates, both with inadequate experience and who offer totally unrealistic promises.
Oh no, not BOHICA !!
I don't think this will work for him. His image is based much more on being easy-going and uplifting. He will show that he isn't much different from everyone else, even Hillary.
He's starting to panic.
Yes, but he does have to show a tough side to him.
He was hoping to avoid a fight with Hillary so as not to cause a divsion in the Party, but now he sees that it inevitable.
He's starting to panic.
Why should he?
The math is on his side.
He has 7 weeks to campaign in Penn. which should give him enough time to take that State.
He should win the next two contests in Wyo. and Miss, easily which will turn back the Clinton momentum.
If anyone should panic it should be Hillary, she is running out of time and states to catch him.
If he snatches one state that should be hers, the super-delegates will end the contest in the effort to unite the Party.
Re: I dont know if Id like Hillary on top.
You don’t know????
I think Hillary should share the ticket with McCain. McCain as Democrat VP if Hillary wins on the Democrat side and Hillary as VP on the Republican ticket if Obama wins. They’d make a perfect pair.
“Either their careers, family or personal secrets were threatened and it was too high a price to pay and they folded, right on cue. It was not a coincidence!!!”
Baloney
Same here. Saw this one coming from a hundred miles away.
Only way to stop it is to turn out in force to vote for Obama. That’s what I’m doing in PA.
She knows she’s drawing dead.
I don’t understand how you can say that when it’s obvious to everyone that the Superdelgates will decide.. if it’s close enough why is improbable that Hillary couldn’t get most of the supers?
I do agree with your assessment.
666 + 666 = 666
