NEW YORK (CBS) ― Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hinted at the possibility of a democratic "dream ticket" with Sen. Barack Obama.
Speaking on the Early Show on CBS, Clinton said "that may be where this is headed, but we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket."
Clinton said the race between her and Obama remains "incredibly close," with just "smidgens of difference" between them.
Clinton's remarks after her campaign won two big states yesterday: Ohio and Texas. She also won Rhode Island. The wins enabled her campaign to break Obama's 12-state winning streak and pick up some momentum of its own.
Speaking later on the Early Show, Obama congratulated Clinton on her victories while maintaining he would be able to wrap up the democratic nomination.
"We still have close to an insurmountable lead in delegates," Obama said. Obama said his campaign had won nearly twice as Clinton as well as a greater share of the popular vote.
Darn it, I think the Rats have woken up just in time to realize that Obama ain’t ready for prime time.
Where was he when he said this and where did you hear about it??
This is just a smoke bomb. Neither one would take second place.
I heard an interesting story on the radio yesterday. It basically said that because the ‘Rat nomination process wasn’t a winner take all contest in the remaining states, there was no way that the Beast could get enough delegates even if she won every remaining state by a 10% margin.
Heavily.
It was a nice country while it lasted.
I’m nauseated at the thought. I will seriously consider moving if that plays out. Sickening that a once great country could be undone in one 4 year term but if that happens, the trend would be difficult to reverse.
Obi-Won - I fear you are very wise; I just pray the Country can survive 4-8 years of a Hitlery/Osama administration, especially when Pelosi and Reid are running Congress.
People don’t vote based on VP. Sometimes they vote AGAINST VPs. There are democrats who won’t vote for a woman, and democrats who won’t vote for a black. Put the two together, and it’s insurmountable. The white male democrats will SAY they are voting for the Clinton/Obama ticket, but they won’t pull the lever for them — ESPECIALLY when they have John McCain, the “maverick” to vote for.
The only way a Clinton/Obama ticket COULD win is if our candidate was perceived as so far to the right that the democratic moderate male white voter simply couldn’t bring themselves to vote for our guy.
If it was as easy as just putting the two candidates together, there wouldn’t be much of a fight. It didn’t work for Kerry/Edwards. If it made sense, we’d see it much more often, but in fact it rarely happens.
If this is going to bleed her more money,then hillary will then suggest a joint ticket although it brings nothing to the table to her in terms of electoral college votes.
Tim Russert seems to think she can pull it off. Hillary surely has more items in her bag of tricks to support that.
And they were helped along by the likes of Rush and Hannity.
This stupid theory that we want them to be battling until the convention isn’t correct. Remember who we’re talking about here; Democrats are disciplined and won’t go off message regarding Republicans. This presumed “bloodbath” won’t happen and the attention they receive at their convention will be too much to overcome.
I wonder if Rush and Hannity were more motivated by their ratings than making sure the Clintons do not return to the WH.

Why is that? The last three heavily contested ‘Rat nominations (’68, ‘72, & ‘80) resulted in wins for the GOP.

Sorry Dorothy, I have a feeling we’re not in the 70’s anymore. The Democrats are nothing if not militant in their opposition to anything to the right of Stalin.
