Sen. Hillary Rodham Clintons (D-N.Y.) campaign charged rival Sen. Barack Obamas (D-Ill.) campaign with breaking several rules in the Texas caucuses.
The Clinton campaign called an emergency conference call with reporters that was interrupted by Obamas chief counsel Bob Bauer, who called in and said the Clinton campaign only criticized the caucus process when it was losing.
With Clinton facing what many consider must-win scenarios in both Ohio and Texas and both races too-close-to-call, the Clinton campaign charged that the Obama campaign had shut the doors on Clinton supporters at some of the caucuses, among other things.
The campaign also said the Obama camp had hijacked some of the caucus packets at certain precincts, adding that in others Obama supporters were calling in caucus results before the polls had closed.
Ace Smith, Clintons Texas campaign director, said the state partys election hotline was jammed, and the Clinton campaign was receiving hundreds of complaints.
This is just truly outrageous behavior, Smith said. Its really disturbing, and its really undemocratic whats going on.
Clintons attorney said on the call that all options are open at this point when asked about the possibility of seeking a legal remedy to the campaigns concerns.
Bauers presence on the call came as a surprise as he and Howard Wolfson, Clintons communications director, went round and round. Wolfson repeatedly asked Bauer and the Obama campaign to ensure that all votes in Texas are counted as Bauer impugned the Clinton campaigns attacking the caucus process.
I voted for her and I know a bunch of other conservatives who did as well. It's been estimated that those 2 clowns will spend 200 - 300 MILLION rat dollars beating each other up if Hillary is kept in the race.
Do you think RINO McCain is ever going to sling any mud at Obama? He gets pissed if anyone calls Obama by his full name.
This could be a two batches of popcorn type of night!
Uh....this could be a huge year for popcorn!
Of course, look how good we Republicans look in comparison (to the feuding and trashy Dems) I don’t think that will be lost on certain people.
Does “candidate” mean saying and doing anything to win? If so, I might even agree that Clinton is the “best” candidate.
Otherwise, I think she is lower than scum.
Is Hillary going to a baseball game? She looks like she’s picking her seat.
OMG...LOLOL
Do you mean the time that someone got the phone number for an Al Gore conference call with reporters? The FReeper who was listening in couldn't help himself and started asking bizarre questions and then started using the sound effects of flushing toilets....which unfortunately brought an end to the conference call. This whole episode is why I'm a Freeper.
Was it Al Gore? Yeah, that was SOOOO funny ...
Your original impulse was correct. If you really think Hillary is the BEST candidate, you need a reality check. Or an asprin.
Yah you Republicans are looking R-E-A-L good right now...
Barf Alert!
“This is going to a brokered convention, and the rats are going to have a civil war!”
It is not going to be a brokered convention. This is a script written in Hollywood. Hillary is going to be named the nominee at the convention to save the party.
Then in the general she is going to steal Ohio and win the election.
ROTFLOL!
You are scaring me.
schadenfreude
i have GOT to learn to photoshop as well as you guys!
“You are scaring me.”
But you thought about it and said, “hmmmmmm.”
LOL.
Looks like the Rats will have to go to the convention to find out the winner. The “CHANGE” voters are already claiming they will sit out the election if Hillary wins.
