Why unite with McCain? He never united with us

Posted on 02/24/2008 10:37:58 AM PST by WyCoKsRepublican

Senator John McRINO aka John McCain is seeking the conservative base to unite with him. Many of us haven't forgotten that he never united with us. Whether it be on his kneepads courting Ted Kennedy or spearheading the ramming of amnesty down our throats, we haven't forgotten. This election offers little or no choice. In the words of Billy Preston "Nothing from Nothing Leaves Nothing."

No matter. He will continue the WOT. Obama will quit and then invite the extremist Muslims to talk about how they can win here!

With a Democrat majority in both houses, how would Obama not get most of his ideas in some form to fruition? How many of these ideas can we afford? I doubt I’m the only one here who thought Clinton would be out in four years. Popularity was enough to get Clinton a second term, and Obama is at least as popular, if not more so (were they fainting for Bill before he became president? I haven’t found any references so far); add a younger, more attractive family, “white guilt” and “history-making” into the mix, and think again about where this country will be for the next election.

If we weren’t at war (remember the WoT?), we might have the luxury of playing politics. As it is, at least two of the Supreme Court Justices are very likely to leave the bench, and the troops need a CiC who respects and supports them and one who understands the mission. Neither Obama nor Clinton fit that bill.

Did you hear that debate last night!
Go for McCain , fill up the Congress with no more RINOs, and defeat these Communists.

McCain will go along with every Dim plan that comes his way, it is in his blood. Some Republicans, who would otherwise oppose the plan, would support him for party loyalty.

But know that you will also be settling for a giant tax hike, three youthful Bader Ginsburgs on the Supreme Court, a nuclear Iran and Al Qaeda, and Hugo Chavez trying to destabilize every friendly regime in central and South America

I find that even more likely under a President McCain.

“I find that even more likely under a President McCain.”

Oh yea. What evidence do you have that McCain is MORE likely to appoint a Bader Ginsburg than Obama or Clinton. McCain voted for Bork, Thomas, Roberts and Alito. Obama and Clinton both voted against Roberts and Alito. And the radical leftist Yale law professor Harold Koh is on both their short lists. You are really just talking through your hat when you make statements as outlandish as that.

“But McCain is also feeble and not in the best of mental state.”

McCain looks pretty healthy to me. His mother is 96 and looks like she is 65. He weathered 5 years at the Hanoi Hilton so I think he can make one term, at least. So that is a bogus argument.

As far as mentally stable, I guess you are referring you McCain’s temper. As for me, I would rather have a President with a little temper dealing with the thugs Chavez and Achmadinejad as opposed to Bambi Obama.

RE: The Flag picture post #14 I have looked into this and this picture was taken — NOT during the Pledge of Allegiance BUT during our National Anthem. Many put their hand over their hearts, I often do. But it is not expected.

You're right. I finally looked into it, also. Snopes has a pretty good write up, including the video of that actual event (which shows that while he doesn't have his hand on his heart, he is singing the national anthem.) He said he was taught to put his hand on his heart during the pledge of allegiance and during the anthem to sing.

If we want any credibility we MUST look up our facts!!!!

BUMP to that! There are enough other things to attack.

McCain's actions with the Gangrene of 14.

McCain's comments about Alito.

McCain's siding with Democrats on anything involving social/judicial decisions over the Bush administration.

McCain's greedy desire to get things done with a huge backing so he looks more popular...

“McCain’s comments about Alito.”

So hearsay comments to unnamed sources of John Fund’s trump actual votes by Clinton and Obama AGAINST Alito. And actually in your view makes it more likely that McCain will appoint Bader Ginsburgs than Obama and Clinton.

Sorry. That dog just won’t hunt.

While McCain’s mother appears okay, McCain does not. I was not referring to his actual age. I know people older than McCain who are in perfect health. McCain and his wife have the creep factor in addition to health problems. Believe me, his temper tantrums are not going to impress anyone and they will not scare Putin. World leaders will write him off as a nut and ignore and make fun of him. That is assuming McCain wins, which is unlikely. McCain is a pathetic figure determined to force amnesty on us.

If you hold your nose and vote McCain this time, what kind of candidate can you expect from the GOP next election?

Lots of people held their nose with Bush and vowed not to do it again.

But many of those will anyway.

It is easy to keep your principles as long as there’s no risk, isn’t it?

One would think that in the twenty years since then, the GOP could have groomed a crop of candidates whom Americans could actually vote for.

A party like that doesn't deserve to exist.
