This is reality:
If McCain picks an unknown or a Rino, then he will lose this race. Period. It’s over.
First, it will antagonize conservatives like me, who are borderline willing to support him given a conservative VP candidate who could someday be a real standard bearer.
Second, the huge name recognition of a Hillary/Obama ticket will run right over any team that’s spending time getting someone known. His VP should be a known quantity on day one, and should be someone who EXCITES his conservative base.
Third, since it will be another Dole/Kemp ticket, obviously a loser from the start, it will invite 3rd party challenges. If they’re gonna lose anyway, you might as well try to get something else off the ground.
Isn’t it “Tim” and not “Tom” Pawlenty? MN is always lost to the GOP, sometimes even in landslide years like 1984. People there really seem to think that a new government program can solve the national woes.
Bogus article that is cast in such a manner as to lend creedibility to the writers speculation
What kind of pick would that be? Pick someone that nobody outside of Minnesota knows about?
I wouldn’t mind seeing J.C. Watts on the short list.
Been thinking ‘bout what name would shock people. I don’t mean good shock or bad shock, just shock. Yes, I know many would say bad, some good, but that’s not my point.
Here’s the name that would shock:
Jeb Bush.
McCain/Steele is the ticket I can vote for without throwing up.
Some of us former South Florida residents always found it ironic how Janet Waco was all for “immigration control” when it was Cubans coming in when she was State’s Attorney down there, but who was OK with millions of Mexicans and Haitians coming to our shores. Of course, with Elian she only confirmed what many of us suspected about this Dyke in the first place.
