This is one of the Reports by Move America Forward concerning the Berkeley City Council's decision to try to not allow the Marine Requiting Office to stay in Berkeley.

The intire country was outraged at the anti-American actions of this small California city.

On Wed, Feb 12, MAF and hundreds of Patriotic Americans went to Berkeley to support the Marines and America and to attend the City Council Meeting that evening.

There were many members of Free Republic at this event, and a lot of Military Vets and many many Patriotic Citizens.

Our combined outrage at the city’s blatant hatred for our Military Service Members and this great country in general was duly noted all across the land

The petition

We, the undersigned condemn the Berkeley City Council’s treasonous attack on US Marine Recruiters stationed in their city. We ask that Congress cut off funds from any and all municipal entity within the confines of the city of Berkeley, California, until such time as the city council withdraws it’s action.

The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and “if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests.”

The measure passed last week by a vote of 8-1.

The council also voted to explore enforcing a city anti-discrimination law, focusing on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

In a separate item, the council voted, also 8-1, to give the Marxist protest group Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week.

Since the Berkley Police Department won’t do their jobs, send in the National Guard. Since law means nothing there, it should be imposed from without. Here’s another idea, Congress could pass a resolution declaring all Berkley political officials and appointees to be “unwanted intruders” anywhere outside of Berkley, subject to harassment and arrest.

So we had what, 20-30 people there? Out of an urban population of 3-4 million? Those numbers make us look ridiculous. This ain’t the 1920’s. We don’t even have effective police presence. Get busy people, study their tactics or prepare for civil war.

An heroic but ultimately futile endeavor. You will never sway the anti-war, troop hating Berkley Council through reason and protest.

Those on the Left are much more accomplished and far better at staging protests than we on the right. They are able to do it more successfully than we for two reasons; first they don't care. They don't care who they hurt or what they hurt. They don't care about the troops we are losing over there nor do they care about the Iraqi citizens they keep protesting over. They only care about tearing America down, in any way they can, so they can impose their own screwed up society on the rest of us. Second, they have the built in support of the MSM. No matter how carefully we conduct ourselves in these conflicts, the story will always be that the pro-military, pro-war side caused the problems. Them's the facts.

The only way to force them to change their policy is by hitting them in the pocket book. We need to begin a full blown writing campaign to our Congressmen in both houses to immediately strip Berkeley of all allocated federal funds. We need the DeMint "Semper Fi Bill" on steroids. No funding for police, no funding for schools, no funding for ANYTHING!!! Not one federal tax-dollar for any city or town that acts in this way.

The cops won't do their jobs? Fine, no federal funds period.

That's the only way you will get action from these low-life, scum-sucking, commie bastards.

Not one f&*^ing dime of money for Berkeley.

It's either that or just go in with baseball bats and start at one end of the town and work our way through to the other end knocking heads...not that I would ever advocate violence.

Received this response today to an email I sent to the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce.

The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce has heard from individuals far and wide regarding recent Berkeley City Council actions and we appreciate that the American spirit is alive and robust.

The business community was not notified of pending city council action, nor asked for input.

We ask everyone to try to separate the actions of the City Council and not harm the good, hard-working small business owners - most of whom do not live in Berkeley and therefore cannot vote in Berkeley.

Additionally, we believe that the Berkeley City Council owes an apology to the community and others, whether they be a Marine or a hard-working business owner, folks that are just trying to do their job in this terrible economy, and which is now more difficult because their actions. We feel that granting a parking space in front of the Marine's office is harassment for them and their neighbors, and should be rescinded.

In the long term, we expect collaboration with the Mayor and City Council when considering actions which may impact our local businesses and community.
The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce believes in a community where all voices are heard in a fair manner.

At the same time, we believe that it is NOT in the spirit of free speech to grant favoritism to any viewpoint, whether we agree with that viewpoint or not.

Unfortunately recent City Council actions coincide with a very weak national economy.

As in many cities and towns across America, hard-working business owners, (85% of Berkeley’s businesses) have less than five employees, operate on a thin margin, and rely heavily on their walk-in customers. The housing and credit crisis have resulted in an unstable economy and a risky business environment. Combined with recent council action, our business community is painfully feeling the revenue loss.

The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce is proud that we promote, connect and strengthen business and community. In short, we are all here to help each other be successful, and to work together to create the best Berkeley possible, one that is inviting and respectful for all.

Berkeley lauds itself as the birthplace of free speech, a tremendous gift to America. We believe it works both ways, and in a fair manner.

Ted Garrett

CEO

Berkeley Chamber of Commerce

Thank you and the Gold Star Mothers and all those who participated in the rally to push back the moonbat antiwar thugs.

The police are derelict in their duty and the City Council of Berkeley should be recalled.

You and others were very brave to confront the enraged loonies who, obviously, were pressing hard for violence. (to be caught on film???) I don’t know how the pro-Troop people were able to keep from bashing the loonie moonbats into the ground...seems like you did your part to prevent such an event.

Perhaps this is a preview of what is to come all over this country. Or maybe it’s just the leftcoast loonies in
Berkeley who have gone off the deep end and taken their police force with them.

When someone gets in your face, smack that person right between the eyes, making sure you turn your fist horizontally just before impact. Never punch someone in the mouth, you'll just get a nasty infection and there will be blood. Between the eyes and they will drop like a sack of chicken feed.

Trust me on this.

Great action and report! I think an investigation is in order for the Berkeley City Police inaction; did the Mayor order them them to let Code Pink riot, attack citizens, steal flags and go crazy? And even if it is legal to burn a flag, it's not legal to steal them.
