Romney has withdrawn and asked his delegates to support McCain.
U Said: You have absolutely every right to defend your faith when attacked. Although not a Mormon, I applaud your efforts. Something has gone terribly wrong with people of faith when they feel they have the authority to judge and condemn.
I try to think of it as ignorance on their part, they are mistaking a Faith (Christianity, Moslem, Buddhist) for a Church (Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, etc) Thus they think they have the right to determine my Faith, and kick me out of it like they would a person who did not hold the Tenets required by their church.
The difference is obvious once you think about it, and they keep quoting scriptures that show the apostles policing the Church and think that is policing the Faith, Sigh.
Party affiliation, for example, I Could have voted Democrat since I turned 18, and Identify myself as a Republican, at registration, No one could stop me, However, if they are in my district nad know how I vote, they don’t have to send me to the convention. I wonder if they will understand this political example? We’ll see.

Delphi, just because someone says it is “Jesus” doesn’t mean it is the same Jesus. There is a guy in Central America claiming to be Jesus come in the flesh as well. His claims do not match Scripture’s claims. Neither do Mormonism’s.

I bought no media spin. I think for myself and don’t support liberals like Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. Nor do I care for politicos like John McCain.

Republican candidates who lose and want to stay in the party always do that. Reagan did the same for Ford when he lost to him in ‘76. Of do you think that meant Reagan suddenly agreed with Ford too?
I saw Crazy John McCain stand next to Mitt Romney. They looked like Mutt and Jeff. I expected more of Fred Thompson and Mitt Romney. But both endorsed Mr. Amnesty. Nobody is as fake as McCain. We received a call from him assuring he was a proud conservative. That was before the last primaries. President Bush also shamelessly lied when he called McCain a conservative.

Not necessarily. The race was not over before Romney tossed HIS delegates over to McCain. It's still not officially over. Romney is just jockeying for a position with the McCain administration. His delegate transfer is nothing more or less than a bribe.

Reagan didn't do it because he wanted a position with the Ford Administration. He did it because the election was over. Over. Done. Finished.
BTW why are you holding Romney's water? He's out of the picture. The only remaining Candidate with a solid 100% Pro-Family, Pro-Gun, Pro-Domestic, Anti-IRS platform is NOT John McCain. If you want to influence the Republican platform and the vice presidential pick, then I'd be crawling across a mile of broken glass to cast a vote for Huckabee.
FWIW I cast my vote for Romney on Super-Tuesday. Since he squandered all his candidates on McCain, I wish I could take it back.
I think it’s pretty clear that Huckabee is in this thing for himself and himself only. Mitt Romney stepped aside graciously, “for the good of the party, for the good of the country . . . in a time of war.” Mitt Romney is a man of great character and by comparison makes Huckabee look pretty darn shabby. Sheeeesh already.

The same reason Romney did. This election was over, done, finished on Super Tuesday; so he did what he had to do in order to run again, just as Reagan did.
BTW, I’m not carrying Romney’s water for him. I still won’t vote for McCain in Nov. anyway no matter who endorses him (unless McCain picks a very strong conservative as VP and then I might).
But all the Romney bashing on FR is irksome because I lived in Massachusetts and know that most of the allegations are untrue and that he would have made a good President, particularly when it comes to the economy.
Tell me, in what ways is John McCain any different from George W. Bush?
If you voted for George Bush, then you really have no excuse not to vote for John McCain. In fact, I would expect John McCain to deal harder with the congress' uncontrolled spending than any president in recent history. And I don't think there is a better candidate to wage the war on terror or to complete the mission in Iraq and Afghanistan.
So tell me, how is John McCain substantially different from our current Republican president?

Closing Gitmo, thinking Alito is too conservative, his “gang of 14,” no “torture” tactics to get terrorists to talk, and no drilling in ANWR for starters.
I’m no Bush fan at all, but because of the above reasons and others (such as McCain’s famous temper and vindictiveness), McCain would definitely be worse.
That is a standard Christian activity. Every Christian credits their personal success to God.
Huckabee isn’t saying he is God, Huckabee is giving God credit for his success.
Apparently a lot of people in Bush's administration are of the same mindset. We can torture these people in Afghanistan if we really need to torture these people. Hell maybe we should open up a detention center on Bikini Island.

It was the Gang of 14 compromise that ultimately got us both Alito and Roberts and may protect the Republicans from being screwed over if a Democrat ever makes it to the white house. What the republicans wanted to do about ending fillibusters was tactically stupid and McCain saved their bacon for another day.

We've had Bush for 8 years and we still have no drilling in ANWR.
McCain would definitely be worse.
We all thought Bush would be better and he wasn't. Maybe McCain will be worse, or who knows, maybe he'll surprise us all and be better. I'm fairly certain he'll be better than Hillary or Obama.
Sorry, there is a difference between thanking God for your blessings and success, and claiming your success is simply divine providence. He’s a bit too megalomaniacle for me... not to mention he’s a liberal pretending to be a conservative.. but that’s another issue entirely.

That’s been the spin from the McCain camp but actually it isn’t true at all. Several good judges did not get confirmed precisely because of the gang of 14. Read Hugh Hewitt’s article on that, for example.
Though I disagree with Bush on several issues, I also believe he’s a sincere Christian with integrity. I also believe McCain’s integrity is severely lacking. Suffice to say, I don’t trust his “word” on anything. That’s mainly why I can’t at this point support him.
BTW, maybe there are people in the Bush administration who’d like to close Gitmo, but at least Bush himself knows better; McCain does not.
