A few years ago Paul Silas was fined $10,000 for saying “C U Next Tuesday” in reference to Carlos Boozer.
Cavaliers fine Silas for remark
The Cleveland Cavaliers fined head coach Paul Silas on Thursday for a derogatory remark about former Cavaliers forward Carlos Boozer.
Silas was fined $10,000 US for slamming Boozer, who left the Cavaliers to join the Utah Jazz as a free agent last July 30.
“It was totally inappropriate, it shouldn’t have happened,” Silas admitted. “I apologize for it.”

Silas, who will donate the money to Cavaliers Charities, spoke unkindly of Boozer to reporters, 24 hours before the Cavaliers defeated the undermanned Jazz 92-73 at Gund Arena.
Boozer did not travel Cleveland because he is nursing a foot injury.
“I’m confident that he understands that it was completely inappropriate for him to speak in the terms that he did,” Cavaliers general manager Jim Paxson stated. “He greatly regrets it.

“Regardless of the circumstances, it would never be acceptable for anyone in our organization to speak in that manner, at any time, regarding anyone, to anyone. We are very sorry that this occurred.”
Bud Shaw, sports columnist for The Cleveland Plain Dealer, wrote that Silas demeaned Boozer by “referring to the ugliest term for a part of the female anatomy.”
“We cannot accept these kinds of comments from anyone in our organization,” added Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert in a statement.
“I have spoken to Paul. He understands our philosophy and feels badly about it.
“Paul also spoke to Carlos Boozer about the incident to express his regret. The comments were inappropriate and unacceptable.”
