Limbaugh and Hannity can no longer be trusted.
ChristianPatriot.com ^ | Feb 13, 08 | Rev Bob Celeste

John 15:18-25 Wednesday, February 13th, in the year of our Lord 2008 First let me say that I am not happy that I have been put in a position where I have to interrupt the series on the Gospel of John. But, what Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other talking head pundits have done this year is not only beneath contempt and disgust but requires a Scriptural response as well. They have, in my humble opinion, proven who it is that they serve, and it is not the God of truth, but the father of all liars.

There was a time when one could turn the dial to Rush Limbaugh and/or Sean Hannity and expect to hear the truth. There was a time when listening to either got you an honest evaluation of individuals and especially candidates. That has changed, as both have proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that they can and will lie to prevent a true servant of Christ from occupying the oval office.

While I am disappointed in both of these legends in their own minds, I am especially upset at and disappointed in Rush Limbaugh. I would not have believed that he would sink to the level of vicious lies coming out of his mouth, making Romney (one of the most liberal governors in the history of the most liberal state of Massachusetts) a conservative, while at the same time doing everything in his power to paint Conservative Christian Pastor Mike Huckabee as a liberal. From Sean Hannity and others, I am disappointed, but not all that surprised. But in Rush, it goes past just disappointment. It goes to having to re-evaluate my thinking about his honesty over the years. With Rush it is more than simple disappointment, it borders on disgust. I always expected more of him, and I have been proven, by him, to be wrong in my high estimation of him and his honesty.

If I were talking to Pastor Mike Huckabee this morning, I would remind him of what Jesus warned us about in John 15:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, ‘The servant is not greater than his Lord.’ Since they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they had kept My saying, they would keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for My name's sake, because they know not Him that sent Me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no covering for their sin. He that hates Me hates My Father also.

If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both Me and My Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE. (John 15:18-25 ACP/KJV)

Those who serve satan hate Pastor Huckabee because they hate Christ. Had they never read or even claimed to read the word of God, they would be blameless, but since they claim to be pro-life Christian conservatives who have read the word of God, their sin lies at their door and within their hearts.

But, I would continue and remind Pastor Huckabee of this passage as well:

And He (God) said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son.

And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham (age 99) and Sarah (age 89) were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?’

Is any thing too hard for the LORD?

At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son! (Genesis 18:10-14 ACP/KJV)

Then I would ask Pastor Mike; “Reverend Mike, which do you think it would be harder for God to do, make you President or cause an 89 year old woman to not only give birth to a perfectly happy, healthy baby boy, but breast feed him and cause her to live till he was 37 years old?”

To all of you who are getting a bit disappointed and down at the mouth, let me remind you of how God likes to fight political wars.

Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against Me, saying, “Mine own hand hath saved me.” Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, “Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead.”

And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

So he(Gideon) brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

And he(Gideon) divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers. And he said unto them, “Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do. When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.”

So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, “The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.”

And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath. (Judges 7:1-7 and 16-22 ACP/KJV)

Mike, If I’m right, you still have too many working for you and not enough against you for God to deliver the presidency into your hands. You still have to many Bob Celestes and not enough Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys. For I do still believe that God is going to cause this election in November to be between you, a servant of the most High God and whichever of the two servants of satan that the democrats choose to run against you. I believe that this fight between you and McCain is nothing more than a warm up for the big fight of good against pure evil in November.

The Lord be with you my brother and may He give courage and strength to the men around you, let they, you, and I obey the command of the Lord in Job 40:7a. “Gird up thy loins now like a man”

And now, God willing I can get back to the Gospel of John.

And Lord, please let it be with those who attack our brother Mike as they try to make it be to our brother Mike. In the name of the Lord Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.

Rush is the bone dividing conservatives and everybody knows it. If he does not support McCain he supports Obama. It is a two person race. Nobody else will be President.

And the reason I just signed up is because I am going to watch us lose a war because Limbaugh does not like campiagn finance reform.

And the blame for that is with national and state parties who frontloaded the primaries in blue states, allowed most of them in red states to be open, and made a lot of them winner take all. That was a recipe for McCain to win, and the party will suffer for its stupidity. After the coming debacle (and it’s coming whether we Freepers vote for McCain or not) maybe party insiders will buy a flippin’ clue and change the primary system.

It's SO UNFAIR that you feel left out!!! It's also unfair that I live in North Carolina and have to wait until our May primary when there will only be one name left on the ballot for President. Your acting like this is your first rodeo and I'm sure it isn't. Since my first election in 1976, I have had the pleasure of voting for a candidate I truly believed in twice, 1980 and 1984. In all the others I have voted against the Democrat and live with the results, but the main thing is that I cast my vote in the best direction I could to beat them. Sometimes it worked, other times not so good. McCain is a liberal, I won't deny that. He has also been a royal pain and road block for everything good President Bush has tried to push through Congress. When it comes down to this election in November and our choices on the ballot, there will be one on two Liberal Socialists running as a Democrat, and most likely one Liberal Capitalist I will be voting against the Socialists by voting for the Capitalist. If you don't bother showing up, or vote for some third party left-over, it will be 1/2 a vote for the Socialists.

““I really don’t understand why most people think Bible thumpers are nutjobs. /s””

That was the post. I took it as sarcasm to the effect he thought all “bible thumpers” were nutjobs. The sarcasm related to the ‘don’t understand’ part.

People like you said, Who is are they going to vote for? They’ll come around again, just like they always do... People like you said, Who is are they going to vote for? They’ll come around again, just like they always do... Not this time, you gambled and you lost. It’s not my fault republicans will lose in a landslide. It’s yours for trying to cram an 80,000 year old liberal senator down my throat that has enjoyed running to the nearest camera and stopping Conservatives while promoting amnesty.

I live in North Carolina. My primary in in May. My Candidate didn't even bother entering the race because of the lack of interest he received in 2000. Instead we threw out a couple of good congressmen with zero name recognition, a very tired x-senator, a couple of governors from very liberal states, a total odd-ball and a senator who has been nothing but trouble for the last 8 years. Regardless, everyone of our pitiful plate full of candidates are still better people than Hillary or Obama, and they are still all Capitalists, not Socialists. Don't blame me for your problems and lack of interest. Blame yourself if you don't vote against the Democrats.

Wait til the primaries are over and see where the Dems stand. They won’t need to move so far to the left to appease their moonbat supporters. They will move more to the center.

I don't need to listen to a word a Democrat says during the primaries or after to know exactly where they stand. Take a look at Obama's latest bill he is trying to get passed, 850 billion dollars to the third world to fight poverty which will turn into turn into 850 billion dollars into the pockets of third world dictators who hate us.

Nice rant, but please point out where I talked about me. I had my vote here in Florida. I pointed out that the primary system was changed this year, perhaps on purpose or perhaps unwittingly, to one that was tailor made for a candidate to be chosen who did not have the support of the conservative base. That is a demonstrable fact, and I believe, a decision that the party will come to regret, if it doesn’t already. I know the Republican party of Florida is in a panic about keeping our largely Republican House delegation. They believe McCain is unlikely to win the state, or even if he does eke out a win, he will have no coattails, since so many of his supporters are crossover Dems who will vote for him at the top but for Dems further down. The party is identifying vulnerable seats, and the inside baseball line is that if the district isn’t +6 or more (i.e., six percentage points more Republican than Democrat) the seat is in danger. THAT is what the nomination of McCain has wrought.

As for voting for the capitalist, that’s downright humorous. McCain has never worked a day in his life in the private sector, and is fond of saying he works for “patriotism, not profit.” Nice soundbite until you stop to consider that it is capitalism that funds the arsenal of democracy, so without profit, patriotism is going begging. Your great capitalist got where he is on his second wife’s daddy’s money, big bucks country club donors, and George Soros. Sucking up to capitalists does not a capitalist make. And, I had to laugh when he listed as one of his economic bona fides the fact that he BOUGHT Greenspan’s book, not that he READ it. Yep, quite a capitalist there.

OK, I get it. You want Hillary or Obama more than you want McCain. This is my last point I will bother trying to make. If we can all show up and vote Republican for all the races, we have a chance of controlling who ever ends up in the White House. If anyone stays home to punish the RINOs, The Socialists will sweep both the house and senate and will make incredible headway in states where they have no business being in control of anything. The more vocal you are about not voting FOR McCain, the more impressed others will be by you saying that and not bother to show up on election day at all. McCain by himself is not worse than a complete sweep by the Democrats. If they get more than 60 in the Senate, it’s a catastrophe. It won’t be like the old days when LBJ was president with both houses on his side. Those Democrats still at least cared about some American values.

So I should shut up so as to not influence others? Trying to shut down debate is a tactic most often used by those who are losing the argument. If your pro-McCain arguments can stand up in the arena of ideas, have at it. If not, so be it.

I will vote for Republicans down ticket and work to get them elected. And I have vocally stated so on this forum and elsewhere.

I want a Dem with a D in office who will be opposed by Republicans, instead of a Dem with an R whom the Republicans will follow over a cliff. In ten years, the country will be better off if McCain is never the President. That is my reasoned, fact-based analysis of the situation, taking into acount all the information at my disposal. And I have not seen one argument from the McCain side that is in the least persuasive. Fearmongering, threats and namecalling do not work with me, and that’s all the pro-McCain forces have.

This is why Huckabee is so dangerous. You ought to see some of the stuff posted by GregF.

On the one hand, Rush is the father of lies. On the other, these ninnies see no problem at all giving Mike Huckabee the pulpit on a Sunday Morning, in Church, during an election year.

Talk about throwing out the money-changers.
