From a few minutes ago:

Now Melanie is talking on KSFO

The police are ignoring the situation, as code pink is in the permitted area of the Americans.

Morgan has called the Highway patrol to take control

The riot squad has showed up now.

People arriving all the time.

Live on KSFO

Is Melanie going to the meeting tonite?

She says yes

She was going to rest later, but now will be on the front lines all day

Will she be able to speak?

She plans to

The whole country is now aware of their despicable actions.

She is concerned they won’t let her speak at the meeting

Lee asks if she has bail money

Mel says yes, money, lawyer etc

She says, Hay Lee and Ossifer Vic can I count on you for 10 or 15 cents?

Berkeley police dept just watching code pink violating the law say that they should be ashamed says Lee Rogers.

So, where are the pictures of these people protesting war in Iran? Saudi Arabia? Russia? North Korea? China? Or, is it that war is only bad when the United States engages in it?

Yes, it's easy to make an ass of yourself when given the freedom to do so, isn't it?

Keep in mind that most of those nutcases are pros. They hop from one protest event to another. It's a career choice that pays for their patchouli oil, crystal prayer rocks and peace symbol wind chimes.

It is worth the bother. Not only that, people from all parts of the world understand what America is all about. See this link and enjoy. Because of your son, and many more like him the torch has been passed on. We must never forget that.

Bingo, Dad. All others are 'worthy revolutions'.

Funny how they supported Clinton's actions in Bosnia when there was no Congressional approval, no UN resolution, and over exaggerated mass graves that never materialized as projected. Not to mention the bombing of a major city...

I saw a video where the marine mom was engaging these twits. One of them said to her “He’s gonna die.” This is postively outrageous. Do these people have absolutely NO shame. And that unkept slob who kept saying to her - “they want to come home.” Well of course, they do, you POS - but they want to come home when the job’s done. How dare this trogladyte speak for people with backbone?

I’d like to see our fighting men and women do a little vignette like they did when John Francois Querry told them they were stupid - only directed toward the Cindy Witch and her Flying Monkeys - um, sorry, Code Punko.

You know, it's times like that when I wish there was such a thing as a Star Trek transporter beam to have her son suddenly materialize in full combat regalia, smack those clowns upside the head and take them back with him to conduct IED clearing.

I know I'm dreaming, but a man's got to have his fantasies...

ProtestShooter has some pix over at Little Green Footballs. It would appear that that “School” near the Punkos protest site is Berkeley High. Students were either cutting class to protest and burn flags or in all probability their teachers LET them out.

Thanks for the specific mention! I was wondering what school this was, and your mention helped me find it:

http://www.protestshooter.com/2008BerkeleyMarinesMorning/

http://www.protestshooter.com/2008BerkeleyMarinesMorning/index2.html

Page 2 has this caption:

So why so many high school students? Berkeley High is right down the street! Here's two kids/protesters coming out of school. Now remember, it's 10:30 on a school day, so either they're skipping or their teacher has let them out to protest.

Being from around there, I can attest to that. If any of you have seen a map of the area, you may have noticed a "blank" area of several blocks southeast of the City Council chambers. That's Berkeley High.

I'm not that familiar with the buildings, but this is a major doorway (I recognize the building visible across the street as the main post office), and I'm guessing that there should definitely be some adult supervision here. Maybe the key word here is "should."

Also look at the next photo (the caption begins, "OK, on the left see the Berkeley high entrance?"). This entrance is at the southwest corner of Milvia St. and Allston Way (the northeast corner of that big block). The photo is taken facing west along Allston. This park is the one mentioned previously on FR, and the city council chamber building is barely visible in the background--look for the spire and the top of the building behind the tallest trees. As ProtestShooter says, they're that close.

I will point out that in 1775 those who favored self governance were a minority as well. British loyalists were greater in number, and the bulk of the populace was apathetic. The situation hasn't changed, and can still be overcome with the same sacrifice and perseverance.

Semper Fidelis.

Three more things:

#1

I wrote,

I was wondering what school this was

I was hoping that it wasn't Washington Elementary School to the south, heh. (I have actually been in a classroom there, though this was years ago.) Berkeley High's the more likely origin, but around here, you can never be too sure.

#2

MLK Way is closed between the city council chambers and that park. I wonder how many commuters are angered (of course, I'd have to wonder how many of them blame the correct side for all this.)

#3

I really like this caption from ProtestShooter's page 2:

Just an overview shot of the pro-Marine side. I'd say they had about 50% more people, or many times more people if you don't include the high school students.

It's Sean Hannity this hour, not a live broadcast. Wondering if callers and/or Sean will cover it.

Code Pink has offices in Albany. Boycott Albany too.

Did the city solicit or invite them, and what can the city legally do to get them out? Code Pink also apparently has offices in New York, Washington, and Los Angeles. ;)

If the city did initiate contact or welcome them, any boycott should focus on that part. Does anyone know?

McCain, Soros And The Reform Institute: Updated and Bumped With Video

~~~~
Dovetailing with open borders advocate and campaign volunteer advisor Juan Hernandez is who does pay Hernandez, The Reform Institute that McCain used to chair and who Their sugar daddy is, George Soros.
Michelle and Captain Ed Morrisey have been covering this latest developement in McCamnesty’s bid for presidency. Their donor list reads like a who’s who of left wing foundations from Theresa Kerry’s Tides Foundation to Soros’ OSI.
***
The Reform Institute is a tax-exempt, supposedly independent 501(c)(3) group, as Ed Morrissey noted two years ago, “that employs Rick Davis, who also works on McCain’s staff as his chief political advisor, and they pay him $110,000 per year.
The Reform Institute has often supported McCain, paid for events highlighting him and his agenda, presumably including campaign finance reform.”
The Reform Institute received $200,000 in donations from Cablevision…and McCain basically tried to intervene on Cablevision’s behalf by writing a letter to the FCC supporting its regulatory agenda.
Morrissey noted at the time: “[T]he Reform Institute helps keep McCain’s staff gainfully employed between campaigns, allowing McCain to do less fundraising while retaining the best of the available talent.
For instance, Carl Hulse and Ann Kornblut note that Rick Davis managed McCain’s presidential campaign in 2000 before founding Reform Institute. Now its president, he gets over $100,000 a year from RI for “consulting services”.
That money allows Davis to remain available for McCain’s future campaigns, and the funding he raises for RI gives him inroads for building support.”
***
I guess that’s how McCamnesty runs a shoestring campaign, Mr. Campaign Finance Reform, yea right, use others to pay your staff so you don’t have to. Rick Davis runs his campaign. From Capatain Ed, I urge you to check out the above link.
But the oddities don’t end at the donors page for Reform Institute.
We’ve already detailed how McCain’s chief political advisor earns a six-figure income from the nonprofit which heavily promotes McCain and the BCRA.
As the New York Times noted yesterday, RI provides a back-channel method of keeping his campaign staff employed without McCain having to do any fundraising for his political campaigns — and avoiding the donation caps that come into play for his donors. And Davis isn’t the only beneficiary of this loophole.
Plus McCain says that he would sign McCain/Kennedy amnesty if he is president after saying he would build the g**d*** fence.
Update: The word is getting out as Johnny Mac is asked about Juan “open borders” Hernandez in Florida and spins like a windmill in a hurricane, lying donkey boy. Hot Air has audio and transcript. How could he not know the positions of somebody that works for the same group he and his campaign manager helped found?
Melanie Morgan, Gold Mother Debbie Lee, 2 Gold Star fathers spoke to about 150 people
A few skirmishes, nothing serious.
The code pinkers stormed (?) the police station, to bite the hand that feeds them
The police allowed the commie America haters to come oveer to MAF’s rally and disrupt, and said they were not supposed to separate people
A Patriotic guy went over to the other side and was filming the anarchists and saw a fist come his way, and ducked
Amazingly enough, the police came en mass and pushed the enemy away from the guy that was filming.
They live to hate and bring
disrespect on America. Wouldn’t
you love to see them in the
countries our dear troops fought
and died to save from tyranny
and try that ?
They’re so blind and dumb from hate,
they can’t conceive that the enemies
of the US they love so much only
crave their necks, too.
