Republicans: George Bush insists John McCain is a true conservative. James Dobson says he's not. Meanwhile, Newsweek predicts "there will be blood" in the GOP. We predict a Republican president. There has to be.
President Bush, speaking on "Fox News Sunday," responded "absolutely" to host Chris Wallace's question of whether John McCain was a "true conservative." McCain is "very strong on national defense," is "tough fiscally," "believes the tax cuts ought to be permanent" and is "pro-life," Bush noted.
For Obama and Hillary, none of the above apply.
Bush did say, "I think that if John is the nominee, he has got some convincing to do to convince people that he is a solid conservative." Indeed he does, as evidenced by Mike Huckabee's win in the Nebraska caucuses over the weekend.
McCain has done well in primaries where independents could vote for him. In caucuses dominated by party activists, he's done poorly. The caucuses of Maine, Minnesota, Alaska, Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, Nevada and Wyoming were all won by Romney. One might dub McCain the "rebel without a caucus."
Ann Coulter may vote for Hillary Clinton, but we will not. The time for Coulters and the true believers to have rallied behind Mitt Romney was before Super Tuesday. It is by waiting for the next Reagan that they've risked sticking us with the next Clinton.

I saw another video where he was addressing his own constituents in Arizona- A woman asked him to answer a question about the crimes of illegals, and anchor babies- the woman was not being unreasonable- But one of his operatives started yelling at her to "SHUT UP! SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!" Then McCain told the woman he would have her thrown out. (she never raised her voice-she was calm), then he had her thrown out.
There's just no way I can vote for him.
The "New American Pioneers" proclaimed in his book are the illegal alien invaders he urges to become settlers in the USA. Hernandez believes all Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in the USA should become dual citizens and consider themselves Mexicans first, "to the 8th generation." He believes there should be no border at all between Mexico and the USA, ever.
And this is the man McCain chose for his "Hispanic Outreach Director." In the past week McCain was asked about this choice, and he said he chose Hernandez because he agrees with his positions. If so, McCain is supporting invasion and reconquista.
Then I read our Constitution, Article 4 Section 4, where it says the federal government MUST protect the states from invasion, and I can only conclude one thing: John McCain is our new Benedict Arnold.

“Im all for uniting.”
Really? Then why didnt you get right behind Romney when he was the one viable alternative to mcCain?
All this Huckster talk is a pipe-dream. He’s going nowhere
and doesnt deserve to go anywhere.
” The GOP needs to get behind Huckabee. “ The national polls are clear - the GOP is getting behind John McCain. Huckabee trails.
No.
You could be correct!
I think he is much worse, he will go along with any stupid deal the democrats come up with and the republicans will not fight him, but the rino's may grow a pair and fight a Democrat since they will have proof they are in deep trouble.
Anyway back stabbing McCain will never get my vote.
Planned Parenthood ran a hit piece radio ad on McCain today (DC area) and said that McCain would try to overturn Roe vs. Wade. The ad was rather explicit and said that if you were prochoice not to vote for McCain. The ad was paid for by PP and had no candidate attached (per disclosure in ad).
LOVE your tagline!
I can think of worse things than losing an election.
I think you are on to something here. In fact, I am beginning to think that there is no such thing as a RINO, and what is often referred to as a RINO is just the natural state of a Republican. These Republicans have just gotten to the point that they can no longer fool us into thinking they are conservatives. Indeed, Reagan may have been an aberration among Republicans because I have seen no candidate in this race that even comes close to Reagan. I bet this crop of Republicans would brand Reagan a heretic! But, not in public of course because that would cost them votes.
What gives you that idea?
“Let me get this straight. I havent had a vote yet. The Republican idiots have already chosen McCain, who is a well known negative quantity, and Im the villain for not going along?”
the GOPBOTs are thick as fleas here tonight ..Support the GOP’s McCain or you are dumb, childish, etc..
I cannot vote for this man. His actions have made it clear he will not support conservative judges - without the gang of 14 OK. he will attack free speech, he will open the borders to millions of illegals..he will reach across the
aisle to Socialist Demorats again and again and we conservative will have NO input period. NONE.
Thank you very much LLS, you are a great FReeper and FRiend :)
“Now we are supposed to get in line for who the GOP wants? Why even waste our time? Dont even have a primary.”
Uh, we did have a primary, and if you hadn’t noticed, the primaries mattered. the guy who managed to get the most votes and most delegates in that primary season is John Mccain. So why are you acting like this was arranged, when in fact it was a consequence of votes?
Not that the MSM didnt have a say in this, boosting Huckster and McCain in order to shut down the Thompson and Romney campaigns. But in the end it was the voters who made the call.
“Im talking about the man and making a point that we had better candidates that were snubbed.”
the better candidate was Romney. He was snubbed by anti-mormons. We cant unscramble the egg.
I changed my mind,I can.. I’ll hold My nose, I can’t stand the thought of the Clinton's getting back in the White House.
This far, and no further.
They said that and more about Reagan... some Republicans despised Reagan... Reagan was not perfect but he was the Father of Modern Conservatism... he brought confidence to a shattered Nation and he made us believe in ourselves again. One cannot be Conservative and not believe the the “Shining City Upon the Hill”. We just have to believe and go out and do it.
LLS
Too bad that McC and the GOP didn't plan on B. Hussein, isn't it? Why are so many GOP bigshots (even some that don't care for McCain) going absolutely nuts trying to browbeat us into jumping on the "straight talk express?" Because with Hillary fading, their careful calculations are now off, and they know damn well that they need conservatives after all (if only to make the loss look less stunning than it will probably be). Clueless to the end, they can't even pull the fear card without belittling us.
