Barack Obama beat Hillary Rodham Clinton in Democratic contests in Louisiana, Nebraska and Washington State as Mike Huckabee showed that he is still attracting Republican voters.

heh, which is exactly the point of this thread. it was written satiracally, but exactly how close to the truth is it? and, the second paragraph was written tongue in cheek, but it may not be far off either..

I asked a co-worker (who is quite afrocentric) and I asked her if OBH is destroyed in the primaries by HRC will she still vote for HRC? She said absolutely. I asked why? She wouldn't give me a straight answer. But she said muttered something about "give the country a change"
I retorted "I hope you like the change in your tax status, 'cause that will be the first one...."
“We ought to just do away with elections and just let the drive-by media choose our leaders. They have chosen the candidates for us this year. Un-damned believable.”
It suprises me that people do not get it.
Why do you think the media chose McCain for us? Could it be because of the 500 threads here saying if McCain is the nominee we are staying home? Hmm?
All I am reading, hearing, seeing is Conservative talk show hosts saying if he is the nominee we should all stay home. Hmm.... Now who would benefit by that? Hmm... Now who does the MSM support?
Wake up people! Our emotions are being played with and they are using our own principles against us.
Amen. After 9-11 I can’t believe Americans would vote for anyone with even a HINT of an Islamic past. Obama can say all he wants how he’s a Christian, but I’ll never trust him. And if you read what his church in Chicago believes about Africa it makes him even worse. Check out Trinity United Church of Christ at http://www.tucc.org/about.htm.
Here is my plan for victory in 2012 !!!
I would be concerned that such an event might to more than merely "alienate" blacks. If such an event happened, I would be likely to avoid driving through any black areas until I was sure what the reaction was
Is it possible she would try to sabotage Obama's general election campaign, on the view that if a weak Republican got in, she would be in a better position for 2012?
I think the reason your afro-centric co-worker won't give you a straight answer, is because the answer is that she's hoping that a Dem administration will impose more draconian "affirmative action" requirements on businesses, which will have the short-term result of increasing her promotion chances. The long-term effect, of course, will be to encourage more businesses to move off shore, but she's not bright enough to see that
I once had a very Afro-centric co-worker. He was going on and on about the African Egyptians. He didn't like it when I pointed out to him that West Africans (as in blacks who came to America) were unlikely to have any significant Egyptian ancestry. Meanwhile, as I was of Italian ancestry, and the Roman empire maintained a lot of commerce with Egypt, with probably lots of Roman sailors bringing home Egyptian wives, and Egyptian sailors stopping at Italian ports, I was much more likely to have Egyptian ancestry than him
ditto
You nailed it.
Absolutely.
Abc news! HILLARY CLINTON CAMPAIGN MANAGER PATTY SOLIS DOYLE ANNOUNCES SHE’S STEPPING DOWN AS CAMPAIGN MANAGER
If he carries 80% of the black vote and splits the liberal white trash, then he should take pa since most of the black dems power is in Philly and Pittsburgh. - Black mayors.
And I don’t see that happening. - not to say that it can’t, just saying that there is something else in play that I do not see.
No. It would be so if we had a real candidate to oppose her stands, but with all of her faults the best the GOP can come up with is McCain??
Crap, another Dole, and even way less liked by the base!
Sorry, he isn’t going to beat her, and I do not at all believe the popular wisdom that Obama is some demigod who cannot be overcome.
I believe that McCain could actually beat him handily, due to a number of intrinsic factors unique to his candidacy in the general.
The Democrats think that Hillary cannot win the election.
“Clintons crying aside, Obamas nomination would be very bad for the GOP”
I couldn’t agree more and have been saying for a while. We don’t want to go up against Obama. Ann C. is right when she says that even if we lose, which would be close, Hilde would be a less dangerous Prez.
I think we could survive Hilde and take it away in 2012.
my husband summarizes it by saying “ Obama is Hillary without the FBI files!”
Obama is definely more likable that Hillary.
