It proves what I've said from the beginning:

It's Freddie and the Dreamers!

All in bed together? Fred could’ve endorsed him right after exiting the race. He didn’t and now everyone is endorsing McCain except the little sissy Christians like Dobsons that talk like their testosterone is too sizes too small. They can have Huckabee. We know how to deal with McCain. He’d better deliver or he is toast. Most of us are giving him the benefit of the doubt. If he squanders it then we all are worse for it.

We will get moderates or mod-libs with McCain.

McCain won't get near the White House.

Thanks. Some people had said earlier that they might be willing to vote for McCain if Fred was on the ticket, especially since McCain is old and not in good health.

A few people also said earlier that Fred was just shilling for McCain. So, I guess I’ll wait and see how this plays out. I wouldn’t support a McCain Huckabee ticket, but I might consider a McCain Thompson ticket. Obviously we don’t even know yet whether that is in the cards, or how conservatives will respond to it if it happens.

I agree with you. We have to do what we have to do and deal with this mess. And I am going to hate to vote for McCain, but I will because I can't stand the thought of Pres Obama or Clinton.

Face facts people and quit being such damn drama queens.

I thought Thompson would sit this one out.

No Repuiblican current or former public official is going to sit out the general election against the Democrats. The candidate selection process is over in the GOP. It is different with pundits, bloggers, and activists.

When Hunter endorses McCain, this place is going to be real fun.

How ‘bout not endorsing anyone?

They've been good friends for quite a while now, so that scenario would've been most unlikely.

Is anyone really surprised or care at this point?

Forget POTUS. Let’s turn our attention to Congress and see what’s left there.

"While campaigning in Wichita, this afternoon with KS senator and former presidential candidate Sam Brownback, John McCain announced that he had recently received the support of another former candidate.

"I also spoke again yesterday to my friend Fred Thompson who assured me he is ready to do whatever it takes to help me win the election in November," McCain said. "I'm very proud to have the friendship and support of Fred Thompson as well."

The campaign would not confirm whether Thompson officially endorsed McCain or not, and sources close to Thompson did not immediately return phone inquiries. Thompson did serve as a national co-chair of McCain's 2000 presidential campaign but has not announced formal support since he dropped out of the race last month. " link

I know. I just explain there would be no difference for the people who beg us to vote for him. He loses whether I do or not. He ain’t gonna win.

Not directing this towards anyone in particular. But this campaign season sure has helped highlight the small thinkers on this forum. Perhaps myself included.

Nice tag! :)

As much as I like Fred, I still won't vote for McCain, even if Fred is on the ticket. A man I can't trust, and I man I (now) have little respect for because he betrayed his own principles. SIGH.

*SHOCK* What??? Politics isn’t the be-all, end-all? Next thing you’ll be telling me there is no Santa Claus!

It’s a good thing I’m stocked up with an almost endless supply of taglines!

And personally, I like people that have a sense of humor about things. Makes life more enjoyable, doncha think?
