Actually, there has been a lot of discussion as to our next step, here’s the latest one (for which I am all aboard).

Wow! I am on my feet applauding! That needed to be said. Thank you. I just hope people are listening. It makes the whiners in this thread look so petty and selfish.

Not going to waste any time or money on the Presidential race, all my effort will go towards the House and Senate. Rush made the case, read up if you want to know the details.

Heaven knows the GOP won't help. Case in point: Pat Toomey.

Which is also why Rick Santorum no longer sits in the Senate.

I didn’t say that. I’m definitely not punching McCaine in the primary. I’ll undervote or vote for Keyes. I don’t know about the general. I may come slinking back. Still seems like a long way off.

I began working on my arm when Romney dropped out. By November, with proper exercise and vitamins, a few moderate books on politics I am sure I can pull the level for McCain. I am certainly staying away from a principled approach to politics. You have to morph with the winds of reality.

“looks like there’s going to be a lot of thumb-suckers sitting home with their marbles in their laps”

Actually, people are saying they are NOT voting for a president but are going out to vote in all the other elections.

Has nothing to do with feeling superior, just refuse to sell out. If selling out makes YOU feel superior, and “part of the group”, then go right ahead

Has it ever occurred to anyone shooting their pop guns here that perhaps Fred believes he can do more good for conservatism in some spot in the inside of a McCain administration than on the outside

I'm sure he thinks that.

My response: Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

On the other hand, looks like there's going to be a lot of thumb-suckers sitting home with their marbles in their laps...but feeling very superior to everyone else

I'm just gonna write-in.

Exactly what I’ve been trying to point out in FR lately. Most of our Repub candidates haven’t been all that great. I don’t understand all the doomsday scenarios over McCain.

LIB = Democrat liberal
RIB = Republican liberal

“Why? Because I don’t happen to care what you do.”....but yet you took the time to tell me that? okay!

This was Rush’s opinion from yesterday. I haven’t been on FR much in the past and haven’t seen threads about it. I’m on board with supporting Senate and Repeseantitive candidates, and state legislature candidates as well. As Rush stated, this is the breeding ground for our next generation. And that’s where my money and attention is going this election.

But, where does that leave us? We have no Presidential candidate worthy of attention and no one in the wings. This too needs our attention. And this is what I was addressing. We need a meaningful discussion of people, personalities and positions on FR beginning now. If nothing else, it would send a message to the RNC (who I believe monitors FR). We want a conservative!

Excellent post.

The Republican Party is suffering from one of the most deadly forms of cancer. The first thing that must be done is “cut out” the malignant tumor. You cannot wish it away. It must be destroyed before there is any hope of recovery.

Voting for an enemy who claims to be our friend will not make us free. This election cycle I am going on a hunt, a RINO hunt.

Is that self reflection on your part?

No way. We will lose the house and senate forever.

Mexican president foresees friendlier U.S. ("anti-immigrant candidates...put in their place")

Question for Fred: McCain's still for amnesty, Fred. You're okay with that now?

Yeah, it’s a strange time, for certain. McCain needs a good VP, but he isn’t going to win the National election.

That’s why you skip the RNC and go direct to the conservative candidates of your choice. Toomey, Santorum, Allen, all perfect examples. No one to blame but ourselves, we let it happen. We need to organize real grass roots action, not associated with the GOP at all.

Next week I change my registration to Independent. I recommend others do the same. Feels good to be a maverick once again

We did it in 1994, we can do it again.

Do you NOT see the irony of your statement?
