Ah, but we can learn from history. We started to build a counterculture under Clinton, but it was co-opted under Bush. We have to rebuild and clean house. We have to reject inauthentic elements of the conservative movement, such as Fox News and the Weekly Standard. They can be useful but are clearly not a reliable part of the movement.

I’ll remember you fondly, and tell my grandchildren how wonderful you were. I shall miss you always.

RIP

Seriously, what is up with all these whiny, "it's all over" vanities? I don't know who taught you folks that quitting is ok, but I would suggest you stop listening to them.

The Republican leadership is committed to amnesty for 20 million new Democrat voters.

The Republican Party will cease to exist as a political force when those voters hit the voting booth, but hey, the good news is that the Country Club Republicans will be able to hire cheap labor at $5 an hour.

Hmm, really? Corrupt though he was, I don’t recall Grant advocating a massive expansion of the welfare state. Or Fremont, Taft, Harding, Coolidge, Reagan, or Eisenhower.

Nixon was a liberal Republican. In fact, McCain resembles Nixon in economics, politics, and temperament.

Look, if you are going to type up some fantasy, you should really go for the gold. Like this:

The Republican Party is committed to amnesty for 2000 gaBILLION new Democrat voters.

The Republican will instead become a side show at your local Chuck E Cheese where you can have the Bear band play Metallica for $5 an hour.

Sorry, I refuse to mourn for a self actioned “suicide by liberal” victim.

Rush sets down a marker: The McCain debacle is not our fault. It's the fault of the Republican establishment which abandoned conservatism.

Except your history isn't right: The Republicans were the party of "big government" in the mid- to late-1800s, supporting high tariffs, federal support to schools, businses subsidies (especially to railroads), and income taxes.

In TR's time, they supported anti-business legislation and justice department attacks on business and introduced the first "environmental" legislation. It wasn't until Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge that the Republicans really became the "party of business" and low taxes. Historically speaking, the modern-day Republicans are closer to those of Lincoln's time than they are those of Reagan's or Coolidge's time.

"Seriously, what is up with all these whiny, "it's all over" vanities?"

Hope against Hope, and in all vanity, I think we honestly BELIEVE that someone from the RNC will actually read these posts and GET A CLUE!

I know, I know; you don't need to tell me; nobody from the "RNC" (as if there really is such a thing) is going to actually read anything we post here.

I’m so sick of all you whiners .....it’s an election people!...get off your whiny butts and go make positive change.....prevent Hillary & Bill from taking back the White House!

It's worse than that. There are Freepers from 1998 here, POSTING EVERY DAMN DAY ONE VANITY AFTER ANOTHER, all saying the same, exact, boring, whiny garbage. I won't vote. I will endure 8 years of Hillary. I am holding my breath! You can't make me!

Not one of them take any responsibility for what's happened, they blame everyone else, oh noes, woe is me, RIP Republican party, etc. Most conservatives I've dealt with over the years specialize in dealing with reality, whether it's challenging or easy.
