Some food for thought, which may not make me popular but might serve to focus on the attitude which cuts our noses to spite our face.

I am NOT, repeat NOT a McCain supporter but to refuse to vote for a REPUBLICAN of any shade and thus help get Hitlery or is it Billery into the White House is a mindboggling mind set.

Fanatically similar, except for the subject matter with that of a Jihadist’s determination to get their point of view and control over us - even by killing us. Or even killing themselves!!

What’s the difference in getting Hitlery and her Al Qaeda girl Friday Huma Abedin into the White House (by not voting or voting against McCain on face spiting nose cutting conservative “principles”) and the unthinking Jihadi imposing his weird religious mind set on us?

We lost the Congress and Senate last time round because so many decided not to vote because they were disgruntled!!! This includes some of my closer friends.

Or by NOT voting for a REPUBLICAN, even someone like McCain, a RINO in many aspects, to perhaps help Obama as a result, a Moslem till age 16, to control our fate vis-a-vis Iran and the Islamic world and terrorism.

Are we also so fanatical in our conservative “ideals” that we are ready to scuttle the ship or burn the barn to get/hurt McCain?

It’s our ship, our barn, our survival, even in a less than pefect format.

Are we so hard headed that we are ready to shoot ourselves in the foot to make a point? A point that will make our lives MUCH worse than McCain, or any RINO - except pehaps Ron Paul - could or would ever do - COMPARED to any of the Democrats!

Do we not realize that our fissy huff only serves to help the “opposition DimRats”?

We sound like those Christians who refuse to accept medical help in the name of their religion and watch their children, wives, husbands or parents DIE because they believe so strongly in God that they will not help save them!

I respect their strength of belief but cannot recommend we all adopt it as our way of life. Not if we want our families to have good health. So why do conservative Republicans try to insist on the same thing. Except, again, in the context?

Where is that different to the fanaticism of the Islamic Jihadists? Other than in context? Where is refusing to vote Republican and retain the White House, even with a RINO, WORSE than having Billery or Obama take it over???

For God’s sake people, please don’t do with the election what the West is doing with Islam - ignoring the alternative of what we face by appeasing our INNER desires and PROUDLY and senselessly losing the war.

Until McCAin became the apparent candidate for Republicans, this debate and stance causes no great harm. But NOW is the time to rally around the designated Republican - RINO or otherwise and fight the DimRAts instead of continuing to splinter the Republican party, on which the SAFETY of our NATION depends.

Certainly compared to the even BEST the DimRats have to offer.

Wake up Republicans!

You expressed my thoughts. I sympathize with the people who are screaming now, but Hillary/Obama aren’t getting a pass from me.

People should put their energy into holding McCain’s feet to the fire on immigration and global warming, not in throwing temper tantrums.

And I wanted to throw a shoe at my TV when McCain smiled and laughed when he was booed. He treats the GOP like we are just some hicks he can con for a few minutes before he gets back to his real campaign - winning all the liberals and ‘moderates’ out there who don’t listen to Rush or Hannity.

One other point McCain will never admit to. He has absolutely ZERO interest in campaigning for or helping any GOP House or Senate candidates who aren’t pro-amnesty or pro-global warming taxs. He has never campaigned for anybody who disagreed with him on his signature issues in the past. And having a Dem run House and Senate works out great for him since they all agree on the big stuff and he can claim to be ‘bi-partisan’. He won’t be lifting a finger to get another conservative to Washington D.C. the whole time he remains there.

McCain will never use the word ‘conservative’ after he gets the 1191 delegates and secures the nomination. And he will not appear before any group who could be considered to be conservative again. Ever. And he will take both the words ‘conservative’ and ‘Reagan’ off his website for the general election since he won’t need to pretend he is one of us any longer (on the mistaken belief that we have no were else to go to we’ll just accept our excrement sandwich).

McCain is a disaster for the GOP. Our efforts in Congress have to be entirely separate from him since that is the only way we will get more conservatives onto the Hill. And those candidates will have to run AGAINST McCain to get elected as well as running against Hillary/Obama.

This just plain sucks and we can blame the turdburglars who designed this primary in their own interests and not in the interests of the GOP voters. No more front loading, no more winner-take-all in Big Blue States and no more NH and IA!!!!

Good argument. I've got similar thoughts.

When I saw McCain at the CPAC conference today, I noticed that George Allen was on the stage with him. Let's hope Allen is his selection for Veep....(and let's hope McCain only serves one term if elected.)

It is almost a certainty that McCain will lose, with or without the conservative vote.

Even against Her Hagness, the Shrieking Shrew, he has almost no chance.

Of those “moderates” and “independents” that were pulling for him to be the Republican nominee, the overwhelming preponderance will vote for whatever totalitarian statist the Democrats nominate.

Why go for a decrepit geriatric who has not been a paragon of loyalty, even to his own party, who has shamed himself and his party with exhibitions of intemperance and rage, who is Democrat Lite, when you can have a real, committed socialist that promises to be nice to everybody and give out freebies?

And that’s before the Democrat party unleashes its weapons of war on him.

I will not vote for Hillary or Obama. John McCain can convince me between now and November to vote for him. If he does not, I will not vote for President. I am under no obligation to validate a repugnant choice with a vote. McCain and others will tell me he is the only way. He may not be a way at all. McCain and others will tell me that the Democratic nominee will mean disaster. That is not certain. McCain and others will tell me that it is because of me that Democrats made a bad choice for America since I did not stop them. Baloney. I am tired of the imagined obligation that I must stop this country from committing suicide. I have no such obligation. If this country is so close to suicide, or entering the dark ages, or crushing freedom, then I can’t save it, and it does not deserve to be saved.

I agree with you. As an Australian, it’s difficult for me to comment. But let me say this:

HOLD YOUR NOSE AND VOTE FOR THE PARTY!

Imagine you lived in Australia, where voting is compulsory. It’s not the candidate we vote for here, but the Leader of the Party that we support.

The thought of punishing the party by not voting just does not make sense to us.

Please, don’t give the election to Obama or Hillary!

How can the Republican Party be returned to its conservative roots without losing the Presidency at least once? Can you offer any plausible scenario?

I would agree that now isn't a good time to try to turn the party around except for one thing--McCain et al. will almost certainly work to ensure that there will never be a better time. If we won't try it now, when there's maybe a 5% likelihood of success, we'll have to try it when there's a 3% likelihood, or a 1% likelihood, or no measurable chance whatever.

Good post, FARS.

I don't care for McCain, but I have to think what would happen on just a few issues if there wasn't a Republican in the White House.

Alot of people are justifiably disenchanted with some decisions with President Bush made, but think about what would have happened if either the Beasty Girl or Senator Empty Suit had been in the hot seat since 2/01;

Taxes would have raised dramatically to fill the government coffer's share of the GDP following the stock market crash that started in 3/00, plunging us and most of the world's economies in a tailspin

We would most certainley not have struck back at Al Qaeda, leaving the Taliban and extreme jihadists free reign throughout the world - very much including the US, where we probably would have lost over 1 million civilians by now.

The 911 stock market crash would have taken us out and the government - still ours , but considering defaulting on the constitution in favor of being owned by the UN - would be confiscating personal property (guns 1st!) by the neighborhood to pay their bills, and make payments on the high interest loans they negotiated with the EU.

Sodamnstillaliveandkicking Hussein would have been testing nuclear bombs for the last 3 years - 1st on Israel, then on his oil rich neighbors, then us (except for the slice the UN gives him).

Our now absolute nightmarish cities would have become a breeding ground for human embryos, and their mothers/factories would be paid to stay home from the moment of inception to the time the baby/product grew until it was ripe for harvesting.

Mexicans that provide two witnesses that one of their ancestors might have lived on a certain lot would have it transferred over to them post haste, along with whatever improvements the "illegal squatter" had put on it. That's the only way we'd be able to attract foreign investment at all.

I plan to use my vote in the most effective possible way to stop the Muslim and the Clinton - it’s a bitter pill, but I will swallow voting for the grinning RINO.

The time is getting short. An English pastor has said England is about to go under Sharia law. There’s still time to stop them here, if we trash Political Correctness. PC gained the Muslims what their armies were unable to accomplish in the Middle Ages: the takeover of Europe. The chief weapon? Political Correctness.

Sorry. Not gonna do it.
Hillary the bogeyman is not enough.
At least with her as Potus the GOP congressmen won’t feel the need to “reach out” which will be the constant pressure put on them from a McCain Whitehouse. Nope in the long run it will be better for the Party and the Nation for McCain to lose.

I’m with you. I wish McCain were truly more Conservative. I wish he was less enamored of the MSM’s adulation. I wish we had an even better Conservative candidate. But we go to war with the Democrats with the Candidate we have, not the one we wish we had. John McCain will be far better as a president than Hillary or Obama, and I don’t want America, the country I love, punished because we Conservatives failed to find a better candidate. Inflicting Hillary or Obama on America to make a point is too high a price for me.
